Background / History

Crimson Blade began as an unusually justice-driven but weak Magical Girl. Her magical characteristic is Blade and Sword, yet she struggled to condense magic power and possessed very limited reserves. Papi valued her idealism, while Xinghua repeatedly worried that Crimson Blade's lack of power would leave her unable to protect others. 10 24

Despite this weakness, she repeatedly endangered herself to rescue civilians. When the Monster Organization cornered her and Xinghua, her desperation triggered an uncontrolled surge that filled the sky with summoned blades and swords, allowing both girls to escape three high-ranking executives. 5 16

Papi later told Crimson Blade that Xinghua had been killed by the Monster Leader. Believing the story, Crimson Blade became consumed by revenge and trained herself relentlessly. She began forging weapons in advance, charging each one with stored magic so that she could compensate for her naturally low magical reserves in combat. 28 44

During the Desire Grand Prix, Crimson Blade met Bai Yu while he was posing as a contestant. His apparent death at the hands of Kudi's group devastated her, causing her Beast Core to awaken and leading to the creation of Eternal Enslavement. She turned Kudi, Tang Si, and their accomplices into Corpse Soldiers, believing that forcing them to serve was a form of atonement. 72 75 76

After the Grand Prix, she increasingly embraced the power of her Beast Core. Meng Yue encouraged her to adopt a separate masked identity and mannerisms that contrasted with the upright Magical Girl Crimson Blade. As her Hydra traits and power grew, she became more ruthless, began calling herself a monster rather than a Magical Girl, and pursued the power needed to revive Bai Yu and punish those she judged guilty. 78 81 87

Appearance

Crimson Blade is petite in her human form but possesses abnormal physical strength. Her original transformed image was a tall, mature red-haired woman, chosen because she disliked her small stature. 70 80

Initially, Crimson Blade is earnest, naive, and intensely protective of civilians. She believes that Magical Girls exist to stop monsters from harming people, and she is willing to risk her own life rather than abandon someone in danger. She also believes even flawed humans should be allowed to reform and atone. 5 21 74

Her perceived loss of Xinghua and Bai Yu progressively destabilizes this idealism. She remains fixated on justice and atonement, but her definition becomes increasingly personal: she decides who is human, who deserves mercy, and who must become a Corpse Soldier. 76 81

Crimson Blade is deeply insecure about weakness. Her pursuit of strength originates in a sincere desire to prevent tragedies, but the Hydra bloodline and Beast Core intensify it into pride, aggression, and a willingness to use monstrous power.
