Background & History
Nagazora Incident and St. Freya Academy
Theresa arrives in Nagazora aboard the Hyperion alongside Murata Himeko during the Honkai crisis. As a former Schicksal S-rank Valkyrie, she prepares to personally confront a Herrscher after ordering the Hyperion's main cannon to fire once she leaves the ship. 117
After Kiana Kaslana and Raiden Mei awaken as Herrschers, Theresa refuses to abandon them. She has Judah restrain the unconscious girls and declares that she will bring them to St. Freya Academy because she believes in them. She likewise considers Zerg a survivor of the Great Honkai and intends to take him in. 120
At St. Freya, Theresa acts as both headmistress and guardian. She reveals Kiana's connection to the Herrscher of the Void, withholds information about Siegfried until Kiana can overcome her inner Herrscher, and later explains Mei's Herrscher of Thunder awakening without treating her as a monster. 128 130
Kazdel Civil War
As the Sarkaz Demon King, Theresa leads the moderate faction in Kazdel's civil war. She mourns the conflict with Theresis and accepts the Doctor's dangerous plan to use her as bait, trusting the Doctor's preparations despite the possibility that she may be assassinated. 183
Theresa personally receives Ascalon despite the risk of enemy disguises, reasoning that her loyal assassin would be reassured by seeing her safely. She also greets the Confessor swordswoman Kuisaxinna without fear, even though Kuisaxinna could have attacked at close range. 184 186
When Ducale argues that the Sarkaz should reclaim their future through conquest and revenge, Theresa rejects him outright. She believes swords should defend the Sarkaz rather than perpetuate hatred, warning that blood and fire would only create an endless spiral of destruction. 200
After Ducale's death, Theresa abandons the safety of Babel's formation to reinforce Kal'tsit against Theresis's forces. She insists that, as Demon King and one of the Six Heroes of the Sarkaz, she must fight alongside Babel's soldiers and confront Theresis herself. 222 223
Death, Resurrection, and Kazdel's Unification
Theresis challenges Theresa after she refuses to regard the Swarm as a threat. Their duel becomes a battle to the death when he launches a surprise attack and later uses Sarkaz Witchcraft to immobilize her long enough to pierce her heart. 227 228
Theresa's consciousness survives in a realm connected to the Sarkaz Collective Souls through the Demon King's Black Crown. There, she worries less about her own death than Babel, Kazdel's future, and Zerg being led astray. 229
Zerg stabilizes Theresa's fading consciousness with Psionics while Kiana retrieves and heals her physical body. Theresa returns to life, and her assimilation into the Swarm elevates her into its first Sarkaz Queen. 230 232 234
Rather than continue fighting Theresis, Theresa offers him a path to see the Swarm's healing capabilities and rebuild Kazdel. Theresis eventually joins the Swarm, ending the civil war and reuniting Kazdel under Theresa's leadership. She keeps the unification secret while Babel mediates abroad and Kazdel recovers, while Theresis strengthens the military for possible intervention. 239 241
Later Activities
Theresa continues to oversee St. Freya Academy and protect Kiana, whom she treats as family. She discourages Kiana from rushing into marriage plans involving Zerg and keeps a closer watch on her due to the Herrscher of the Void within her. 291
When tensions rise between the Herrscher of Thunder and the Herrscher of the Void over Zerg, Theresa avoids immediate combat by appealing to Zerg's affection for her and getting him to respond. 304
In Yae Sakura's consciousness space, Theresa attempts to deliver Kallen Kaslana's cross necklace to Sakura, but Amon's influence prevents Sakura from properly seeing or hearing the message. Theresa later recovers the cross in battle and uses Kallen's remaining power to assume the Celestial Hymn form. 308 312 315 317
Appearance
Theresa is a petite, pink-and-white-haired Sarkaz frequently described as a white-haired nun or little nun. She normally wears a nun's outfit and carries Judah, though her appearance changes substantially when using Celestial Hymn. 119 129 317
- Petite stature; Kiana repeatedly calls her a “shorty.” 127
- Pink-and-white hair as the Sarkaz Demon King. 175 183
- Usually associated with a nun's habit and the golden cross Judah. 119 129
- In Celestial Hymn, wears a red-and-white ceremonial dress, manifests a holy cross, and is surrounded by a golden halo. 317
- Can display nonhuman ears and shrine maiden robes while empowered within Yae Sakura's consciousness space. 315
Personality
Theresa is gentle, empathetic, and steadfast in her belief that the Sarkaz deserve a future free from vengeance. Even enemies on Theresis's side respect her because of her conduct and contributions to Kazdel, rather than merely her position as Demon King. 186 200
She is willing to accept personal danger for those under her care. Theresa lets the Doctor use her as bait, personally reinforces Kal'tsit against advice, and refuses to leave Kiana, Mei, or Zerg behind despite the danger surrounding them. 120 183 223
Despite her authority, Theresa has a playful and occasionally evasive side. She avoids administrative work, reads Hōm comics, and attempts to feign injury to escape work or unpleasant treatment potions. 134 322
