Formation and Nurturing

Dharma Seeds may arise through the fusion of cultivation methods, the condensation of suitable techniques, or the refinement of rare and innate spiritual objects. The Yin-Yang Primordial Hoop was formed through the fusion of Yin and Yang methods, while Solar Pivot Primordial Magnetism was born from Great Sun True Qi and Earth Origin within the Earth-Milk Spirit Pool. 77 123

The Yellow Court Method-Nurturing Canon is specifically designed to turn spells into Dharma Seeds, house them in the Yellow Court, and nourish them with True Qi. Under Dawn Radiance True Qi, a seed receives a trace of enlightenment at every dawn and can gradually cultivate itself. 87

Dharma Seeds are distinct from Daoist arts. Lu Xuan notes that Daoist arts cannot themselves be condensed into Dharma Seeds for Yellow Court nurturing. 103

Characteristics

True Form

A Dharma Seed that receives sufficient nourishment can refine into a True Form, a higher state in which the technique’s original seed-like body is no longer apparent. 120 128

• The Jade Toad Swallowing Sun developed into the Jade Toad True Form within Lu Xuan’s Yellow Court. 120

Sentience and Manifestation

Great Yin cultivation can grant Dharma Seeds spiritual intelligence, allowing them to leave the body and act independently. 87 126

• Lunar Yin Sect Dharma Seeds can manifest as forms such as moon rabbits, moon goddesses, mirrors, and other spiritual constructs. 126
• A sufficiently developed Dharma Seed may be lent to another cultivator for temporary use. 126

Divine Dharma Seeds

A Divine Dharma Seed is produced by refining a divine spirit into a Dharma Seed, a method associated with the Lunar Yin Sect. 142

• Lu Xuan acquires an incomplete Divine Dharma Seed containing the spirit of a Mountain Deity after Yun Yuyao abandons it to escape. 142
• Its mountain authority allows manipulation of stone, formation of rock prisons, movement through mountains, perception of Spirit Veins, and command over spiritual herbs within the Origin Realm. 143

Notable Dharma Seeds

Limitations

• Not every cultivation art can become a Dharma Seed; Daoist arts cannot be condensed into seeds for Yellow Court nurturing. 103
• A cultivator’s ability to nurture multiple seeds is limited. Without superior rare objects, Lu Xuan estimates that the Yellow Court Method-Nurturing Canon can advance at most one seed to True Form within a year. 128
