Arc 1The Black Dragon Returns
Daemon Blackfyre awoke a century before his death, claimed Glutton, and was welcomed back into House Targaryen as Aemon’s surviving son. After winning a tourney and refusing a plot against his family, he joined the royal dragons in punishing the Stone Crows, while Alysanne secured Jeyne Arryn’s inheritance and Gael sought him out.
- Daemon Blackfyre died on the Red Grassland, then awoke in a boy’s body in a Dragonstone dungeon and escaped after discovering a black three-headed dragon brand on his shoulder.
- Rhaenys rescued Daemon from the sea and claimed him as her brother, while Baelon and Corlys questioned his identity and confined him to the Night Watch Tower.
- Daemon Targaryen befriended Daemon Blackfyre and gave him keys to escape, leading him to Glutton, whom he bonded with and rode into the sky.
- Baelon recognized Daemon as Aemon’s surviving child, and Daemon Blackfyre and Daemon Targaryen helped destroy the Triarchy fleet before traveling with the royal family to King’s Landing.
- Daemon Blackfyre advised Jaehaerys on the Stepstones, rejected a proposed Dornish betrothal, and was publicly recognized as Aemon’s returned son after Rhaenyra’s birth.
- Daemon Blackfyre defeated Daemon Targaryen in the tourney final, received the sword Blackfyre and a place in House Targaryen, and refused Taimond Lannister’s offer to help him rise against his family.
- The Arryn family was killed by the Stone Crows despite Daemon Blackfyre’s warning, and he concealed his foreknowledge by describing the massacre as a dream before joining the royal dragon attack.
- Jaehaerys, Baelon, Daemon Targaryen, and Daemon Blackfyre burned the Stone Crows’ camp, while Alysanne later affirmed Jeyne Arryn’s claim and Gael told Daemon she was worried about him.
