Valyrian Steel Armor
Jon was thinking as he approached the cage.
He brought the candle closer, and the sight before him was chilling: none of the four people were whole or unharmed.
The man who knelt before Jon had lost both legs; judging from the marks on the bandages, he must have been cut off recently.
The two men behind him each had an arm and a leg cut off. Blood and foam were seeping from their mouths, and their tongues had likely been cut off as well.
The worst off was the person behind them, who not only had no limbs, but also had his eyes gouged out, his teeth knocked out, and there were even congealed blackish-red scabs near his ears.
Jon had seen his fair share of severed limbs on the battlefield, but this was the first time he had ever seen someone tortured to such an extent and still alive. Given that he was mentally sound, it was understandable that he felt uncomfortable seeing such a scene.
The four men locked in the cage seemed to realize that Jon was not Euron, especially the one whose legs had only been cut off. He looked at Jon like a dog and said in an extremely pitiful tone, "M--Master, save us, save us."
Others seemed to realize that Jon was not from the Free Cities and did not speak Valyrian, so they communicated with him using the Common Tongue.
Who are you people?
"My lord, I am, Pyat Pree, Phyl Pyat Pree, I am the wizard Qarth from the far east. The owners of this ship imprisoned and tortured us; they are my companions."
Qarth —a warlock? Jon suddenly remembered that these warlocks didn't seem to be any good either. They had lured Daenerys into the House of the Undying, apparently to drain Daenerys life force.
Thanks to Daenerys's dragons awakening in time and driving them away.
Furthermore, their House of the Undying seems to possess a peculiar quality, even managing to predict the situation on the Westeros.
Daenerys's observation of five dwarves pleasuring a beautiful woman at the House of the Undying is a metaphor for the War of the Five Kings, and the beautiful woman represents Westeros.
However, with Jon present in this timeline, Daenerys might have seen a different picture.
Putting those matters and judgments aside for the time being, Jon decided to ask why Euron.
When Euron found them, the sorcerers were quite surprised, as ordinary people couldn't enter their House of the Undying. So they launched an attack on Euron.
As it turned Euron's armor was actually Valyrian Steel Armor, rendering their magic completely ineffective.
Euron captured most of the male wizards of the House of the Undying. As he traveled, he learned magic from these wizards. If any of them could no longer impart new magical knowledge to him, Euron would kill them and throw them into the sea.
Euron had originally captured about ten male witches, but now only the four of them remain.
Realizing that Euron's magic seemed to have been learned from these warlocks, Jon asked them about Alerie.
The wizard honestly replied, "Don't worry, sir. It's just a very ordinary method. The owner of this ship must have used some means to give a lamp to that noble lady. You just need to destroy the lamp and let the lady take a nap."
"Lights? Okay, I understand." Jon nodded, then asked again, "Do you know how Euron controls those sailors?"
"This—forgive my limited knowledge, I'm not entirely sure, but I've seen it many times. Those sailors were originally normal people, but the ship's owner would use all sorts of cruel methods to destroy their spirits. Once they completely lost their will to resist, they would become mindless zombies at his beck and call."
"Destroy their spirits?" Jon seized upon this crucial information.
The reason he fed the Raven during Raven training was actually to weaken their resistance to his control.
Furthermore, like the other members of House Stark, he owned a Direwolf and raised it as a Direwolf, which created a certain mental habit of winning animal companionship through showing goodwill.
Euron, on the other hand, clearly took a different path: using pure violence and fear to obtain puppets who only knew how to obey orders.
"Wait! Hodor!"
For some reason, Jon thought of Hodor in Winterfell, who had essentially been Hodor's caregiver after Bran became disabled.
If the reason Hodor became like this is because the Greenseer traveled through the river of time and made him hold the door...
Even Bran was able to control Hodor afterward, doesn't that mean Hodor's soul and will were also destroyed by the Greenseer?
Thinking about this, Jon felt a chill run down his spine.
If the Greenseer truly possesses omniscience, does he know anything about himself? How much does he understand about the soul of this outsider?
Furthermore, where did Euron's almost Greenseer abilities come from?
Bran was clearly the one chosen by the Greenseer.
A series of questions left Jon completely bewildered.
At this moment, Pyat Pree secretly observed Jon with a probing look, as if he was thinking and pondering.
After all, compared to Euron, who was like a demon, Jon was more like a normal person.
"Whether he knows it or not, the right thing to do is to find a way to make myself stronger!" After an unknown amount of time, Jon realized this key point, which greatly reduced the chill down his spine.
At this moment, the male sorcerer Pyat Pree spoke again, "My lord, please, please kill the person behind us, he is in too much pain."
"Kill him?" The change in the sorcerer named Pyat Pree's reaction was quite drastic, which puzzled Jon and made him wary.
He glanced at the male wizard behind him, who had been blinded, deafened, and crippled; the man lay there like a lump of rotten flesh.
I continued to observe the guy with my Divine Vision and found that although he also had gray on him, it wasn't much thicker than the others; instead, he seemed to have more fear.
The pain was intense, but it hadn't reached the point where I wanted to die.
But why would Pyat Pree kill him himself?
"Witches are like palaces built of bones." Jon remembered there was a saying that was specifically used to describe these infamous witches.
He's still in his cage, and he's already starting to lie to himself. He's incredibly audacious.
Jon realized that the Pyat Pree's tongue hadn't been cut off yet, which meant he was still teaching Euron magic, and Jon could get some information about the Free Cities and Daenerys from him.
It's not too late to kill them after we've extracted all the information and intelligence from them.
However, Jon didn't make a fuss. Instead, he said, "You've arrived in Westeros now, and you're safe. The Citadel isn't far from here; there are the most skilled maesters there who might be able to save his life."
"Thank you, sir, for your kindness."
Jon didn't say anything; he believed there was something very wrong with these wizards.
Jon looked around and, concluding that there was no danger on the ship, said, "You wait here; my men will be there shortly."
"Yes, my lord, the gods will reward your mercy," the bald, gaunt wizard said, feigning surprise and delight.
"Hmph, her acting skills are still lacking."
After calming him down, Jon prepared to leave the warehouse below deck, which served as a prison.
Just as he was about to leave, he remembered that he hadn't had time to look at the boxes, so he opened a few and took a look, only to find that they were full of treasures, gold and silver.
Conservatively estimated, the Gold Dragon is worth two to three hundred thousand.
After looking at some medicinal herbs, he returned to the cabin. According to Pyat Pree, he came to another cabin door, which was simply closed but not locked.
After all, on this ship, Euron was practically God, so there was no need for him to lock the door.
Jon opened the door and found the room filled with bottles and jars, and the whole room was filled with a strong herbal smell and a strange sweetness.
These were clearly not respectable things. Jon noticed a desk next to the window, piled high with notebooks and books, and also the kind of oil lamp he had mentioned.
Seeing this, Jon couldn't help but smile. It seemed that to destroy the world, one needed sufficient knowledge.
Jon, of course, wanted to keep these notebooks and books as well.
Soon, Jon saw the thing he had been looking for next to the desk—a Valyrian steel armor.
Legendary armor that grants complete immunity to magic!
Compared to the Dragon Egg whose hatching time was unknown, the Valyrian Steel Armor had already proven its strength. Jon took a closer look and saw that the armor was covered with dense dragon scale patterns the size of fingernails.
No, it's not a pattern. These dragon scale-like designs are actually interlocked and fused together, and they even have a certain degree of flexibility, so Jon's size allows him to fit into them completely.
At the same time, these dragon scales also have wavy patterns similar to those on Valyrian steel sword, and people can even lose themselves in thought after looking at them for a long time.
It's clearly a creation from the Valyria period; there's absolutely no doubt about that.
Jon discovered that Euron was indeed quite lucky; not only was his armor completely intact, but even his helmet was not lost.
It's possible that it was directly taken from the remains of a deceased Valyria dragon king, or perhaps Euron was simply lucky enough to find the treasure vault of a House Targaryen.
A Valyrian steel sword is priceless, and a suit of Valyrian steel armor is even more valuable.
On the other hand, it would have been great if Euron had found a few Valyrian steel along with the Valyrian Steel Armor, but unfortunately Jon wasn't so lucky. After searching the room for a while, Jon only found some Valyrian steel items, such as necklaces.
It seems Euron didn't find the Dragon King's treasure vault; he was just too greedy.
