The Lady of Casterly Rock's Methods
Margaery was a woman who was born with a thirst for power.
Jon could even feel her grip on his hand tighten with excitement.
The two walked step by step toward the crowd, and the tribespeople of the Mountain Clans knelt down in unison upon seeing Jon, like waves of wheat falling over.
The thousands of tribespeople kneeling before Jon and his wife created an extremely solemn atmosphere for the welcoming procession.
Those who are unwilling to kneel will feel an extremely strong sense of oppression from this atmosphere.
For example, Alester, standing amidst a large group of kneeling people, seemed to feel as if even the sea breeze had picked up in strength.
Having a large group of people kneeling before him could easily make one feel elated, but Jon did not want to indulge in that feeling, so he told the Mountain Clans immigrants to rise.
Vidor, Cheek, Haken, Sola —these are all familiar faces and attire from the Mist Tribe, Howling Mountain Tribe, and Streamcut Tribe tribes, reappearing before my eyes.
Vic and Cheek were at the front, so they were the first to see Jon. Although they hadn't seen Jon for more than half a year, even though they were deep in the mountains, they could still hear news of Jon stirring up trouble and winning victory after victory.
The two elders found that Jon was taller and more imposing than they remembered, and that he was also much more composed and exuded an aura of nobility.
All of this was naturally inseparable from their inquiries and understanding of Jon along the way, as well as the psychological cues that the majestic Casterly Rock provided them with.
After they saw Jon, the second person to catch their attention was naturally Margaery.
Even Vidor, who was always very confident in his daughter's appearance, had to admire Margaery's beauty and sincerely believed that only a woman as beautiful as her was worthy of Jon.
Haken was similar; he first saw Jon and then looked at Margaery. Margaery's beauty momentarily captivated him, but he quickly looked away after regaining his composure.
First came the amazement, then the fear and nervousness.
He naturally wouldn't dare to have any improper thoughts about Margaery, even ignoring Jon's own martial arts skills; if the people around him found out, they would kill him.
Finally, there was Sola, whose blue eyes never left Jon.
Jon and his wife stopped. He temporarily released Margaery's hand and approached Vidor, saying, "Rise, Elder Vidor. Help everyone up. From now on, that town over there will be your home."
Having received Jon's promise, everyone cheered, except for Alester and his group, whose faces continued to darken.
Because up to this point, Jon hasn't greeted him at all.
"My lord, you have given us this land; you are the hero of all the tribesmen!" Looking at the boundless, flat land, Vidor's face was filled with excitement.
"He's our savior!" Haken chimed in, glancing defiantly at Alester.
Alester forced himself to calm down. He told himself that he was not here to provoke the barbarians, but to quell the rebellion and find a way out for the House Florent.
Jon caught a glimpse of Sola out of the corner of his eye; her eyes darted back and forth between Jon and Margaery, looking somewhat lost and bewildered.
However, such things cannot be changed according to anyone's will, and the two were not destined to be together.
"Elder Vidor, you must be tired from your journey." Margaery also came to Vidor and greeted him with a smile.
On the way, at Margaery's request, Jon gave her a rough description of what several important elders looked like.
The effect was noticeable. After receiving Margaery's greetings, even cunning elders like Vidor and Cheek held the young mistress in extremely high regard.
In fact, they even felt that Margaery's beauty almost perfectly matched the image of their "moon goddess".
"My esteemed lady, this is nothing. The master has found us a new home, so even if the journey was arduous, it was all worthwhile," Vidor said repeatedly.
"My lady, Lord Jon has found us a new home. From now on, we will be loyal to the Stark of Casterly Rock for generations to come, and we will never betray them!" Cheek also expressed his commitment.
Margaery smiled and nodded, glancing at Sola beside her. Sola's gaze at Jon hadn't escaped her notice.
"Is this the elder's daughter? She's so beautiful."
"She's not as beautiful as the lady." Vidor was pleased to hear Margaery's praise. "Sola, quickly bow to the lady."
"Husband, wife."
Seeing that Margaery had suddenly turned her attention to her, Sola was at a loss, nodding and bowing repeatedly. She wanted to hide but had nowhere to go, and when she finally managed to put on a smile, she felt it was inappropriate.
"Vidor Victor, I would like her to be my companion. What do you think?" Margaery held Sola's hand, seemingly quite fond of her.
"Of course, Madam, it's Sola's honor," Vidor said, then turned to Sola, "Quickly thank Madam."
"Thank you, Madam." Sola felt dizzy and disoriented, like a puppet being turned around and around, and she didn't even realize when she had a golden bracelet on her wrist.
In addition, there was Thor, Sola's brother who was standing there dumbfounded. Margaery also had someone fetch his boots and gave them to him.
Jon didn't even know when Margaery had prepared the gift.
The Lady of Casterly Rock displayed her magnanimity among the Horde people with just a few words, earning the admiration of Sandor, Brynden, and others. Even Jon's opinion of her improved considerably.
However, her next words surprised Jon even more. Margaery told the tribespeople who were expressing their gratitude and loyalty that these were all Jon's wishes.
Thus, Jon, thanks to Margaery's thoughtfulness, once again earned their respect.
Jon looked at Margaery, who raised an eyebrow at him slightly, as if showing off or asking for credit.
At this moment, Elder Cheek, who had been mostly silent, spoke up, "Madam, please give our new land a name."
"Please give us a name, madam; it would be our pleasure."
Margaery was both surprised and delighted by Cheek's request. She looked at Jon, and after receiving an encouraging glance, said, "Casterly Rock will henceforth be my new home, and the surrounding lands will also be your new lands, your new home—"
"A new home, a new village?" Jon thought to himself, smiling as he looked at Margaery.
"How about we call it— New York Town!"
"New York, good! People of the tribe, from now on this is New York, our new home!" Vidor shouted to the tribesmen behind him.
"We're New Yorkers now!"
"Long live New York! Long live the lady!"
The crowd cheered, but suddenly Margaery turned to look at Jon, only to find Jon staring at her with wide eyes, looking astonished.
"What's wrong? Is this name bad?"
"Great, wonderful, absolutely perfect! From now on, all naming matters will be handled by you, including our child's name."
Margaery was overjoyed to receive Jon's promise. Finally, after meeting the tribespeople and naming the town, Jon brought Margaery to Alester.
"Your Grace, you must be tired from your journey," Alester said curtly, his displeasure easily discernible.
"It must have been tiring, my beloved wife is exhausted. Let's go to the castle first." With that, Jon, ignoring Alester's increasingly dark expression, turned and said, "Adam, prepare the carriage, let's go to the castle."
The group was about to enter Casterly Rock, where a welcoming banquet was to follow. Jon and Margaery returned to the carriage, which then drove into Casterly Rock.
Inside the carriage, Margaery suddenly spoke up, asking, "My Lord Jon."
"You want to ask about Sola?"
No, if you want to talk about it, then I can listen.
Jon hadn't expected to be tricked. He tightened his grip on Margaery's waist slightly, and Margaery couldn't help but let out a soft gasp.
She begged for forgiveness repeatedly, then said, "What I really wanted to say was, back when you were in King's Landing, you always said you wanted to go back to the Wall, but you didn't really want to go back to the Wall, did you?"
"You made an agreement with those tribesmen a long time ago, didn't you? They gave you soldiers, and you found them new land, right?"
Your wisdom is as pure as ice and snow!
Receiving Jon's praise, Margaery continued, "Jon, I know you're an ambitious man, but could you tell me what level you plan to reach in the future? That way I can be prepared."
Jon looked into those bright brown eyes and said, "The truly wise only wait for the right opportunity."
Lanterns hung from the towering buildings of Casterly Rock, and even the smallest alleyways were lit.
The scattered halos of light complemented the starry sky overhead.
With the new master arriving in Casterly Rock, a welcoming banquet is naturally in order.
Jon still chose to hold the banquet at the Hall of Heroes, and since the walls were still covered with lion reliefs, he temporarily covered them with banners.
A servant from Highgarden suggested to Margaery that Tyrell's banner be flown alongside Jon's, but Margaery refused.
She knew that the banners of both the Lannister and Baratheon flew in the Red Keep, and that Robert and Cersei's relationship wasn't exactly harmonious. Margaery believed that if she wanted to demonstrate influence, she absolutely couldn't do it in such a pointless place.
So everywhere you looked, you saw Jon's black White Wolf Banner.
After a simple dinner with the tribal chiefs and seeing Alester off, the couple prepared to go back to rest.
Just as Jon and Margaery were about to head to their bridal chamber, Jon's squire Robert Frey suddenly informed Jon that Allissa had arrived.
"Alliser?" Margaery didn't understand why there would be a visitor at this time.
