Jon had noticed that whenever these Northerners plotted mutiny, coups, or the elevation of a new leader, they always used the same old routine.

He did have plans to seize power, but not now. There was still plenty of time before Stannis attacked King's Landing and the Battle of the Blackwater began.

And many variables could arise during that time.

Because he had stopped Robb from declaring himself king, Robb no longer trusted him as he once had. For all he knew, a single letter from Roose Bolton could have his military authority taken back.

What Jon wanted was to hold the military command in his hands at the right moment, then lead the army straight to King's Landing before anyone could react.

Besides, with the North's army helping take King's Landing, Stannis would not be likely to turn on Winterfell anytime soon. That would give Jon time to make his arrangements.

But now that the idea of a mutiny had surfaced, Jon could not oppose it as fiercely as he had last time. He raised a hand, pressing it down slightly to signal for silence.

"My lords, I am merely a junior who has only just set foot on the battlefield. I cannot compare to Lord Bolton's seasoned skill in command. Moreover, Lord Bolton has made no mistakes in military matters thus far, and he is the commander-in-chief of the East Road Army, personally appointed by Robb. I doubt any of you wish to defy your liege lord's orders, do you?" After speaking, Jon left the crowd before they could respond.

"Jon!"

"Lord Jon!"

"Jon..."

Seeing Jon leave, they could not well stop him. Wendel, however, spoke up. "Jon seems much gentler than last time. Perhaps if we push a little harder, he will become our East Road Army
