Mira casually came up with an excuse and chased off Laki and the others who were egging them on.
Then she quietly asked Rhode, "If you're treating everyone, what about the rent?"
She had not forgotten why Rhode had wanted to take on jobs before.
Rhode pulled a long face. "I'll take another job in the next couple of days... Please keep an eye out for me too. I'll ask around and see if anyone wants to form a team."
Mira smiled. "Okay~"
Rhode had been moving forward all along, so Master did not need to worry too much.
It was still a long while before the guild closed. Rhode went to the backyard to work the iron and practice his punches for a while. He had not properly stretched his limbs these past two days, and it felt strange.
He trained for quite some time before stopping, borrowed the guild bathroom for a shower, then returned to the tavern to chat with Marcus and the others.
There were plenty of hands today, so Rhode only needed to help out now and then.
With Rhode around, the conversation naturally turned to him going out alone with Mira.
But Rhode's main purpose was to remind everyone to be more careful when going out to work, so he worked hard to steer the topic toward the incident with Phantom.
"Those Phantom guys actually did something like that!" Alzack said angrily, then his tone turned somewhat envious. "But perfectly protecting the person you wanted to protect during a team-up... isn't that really cool?"
He wanted to invite Bisca to form a team, then protect her properly. If that happened...
Looking at Alzack's expression, Rhode quietly reflected on whether he had ever made such a foolish face.
"Those Phantom guys really are annoying." Nab
