Background / History

Dugu Yao transmigrated into the Douluo Continent as Dugu Bo's grandson, though his memories of his previous life only returned when he was six. Initially expecting to inherit the Dugu family's Jade Phosphor Serpent Martial Soul, he immediately worried about the family's inherited poison accumulation flaw. 1

During his Martial Soul awakening at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eye, Dugu Yao was drawn into an Otherspace containing the Five Emperors Platform. There, he encountered the jade-green nine-headed creature he named “Little Booger,” learned of Fierce God Xiangliu's suppressed remains, and received Xiangliu's inheritance. His awakened Martial Soul proved to be the living, conscious Nine-Headed Xiangliu External Martial Soul, rather than a Jade Phosphor Serpent mutation. 3 4 6
