Background / History

Ye Lingling is the daughter of Ye Qingxian and granddaughter of Ye Lingyu, inheritors of the Nine-Heart Begonia Martial Soul. At four years old, she arrived in Profound Spirit City with her family when Ye Lingyu sought refuge with his old friend Dugu Bo. Initially timid around strangers, she gradually became cheerful and outgoing after living with the Dugu family. 55 56 59

Her existence placed Ye Lingyu in danger. The Nine-Heart Begonia lineage was believed to permit only two wielders at once; when Ye Lingling awakened her Martial Soul, Ye Lingyu rapidly withered because his Martial Soul was extracted and transferred to her. The Resurrection and Soul Returning Pill restored Ye Lingyu and created a third Nine-Heart Begonia Martial Soul, ending the family’s inherited limitation. 57 88

At six, Ye Lingling awakened the Nine-Heart Begonia Martial Soul and initially possessed Level 8 Innate Soul Power. Dugu Bo gave her a Yin Yang Spirit Infusion Pill, elevating her to Innate Full Soul Power and greatly improving her future cultivation potential. 87 89
