At this moment, a meeting was underway inside that palace.
The Red Sun was enormous. From the ground, only its outline could be seen, but it hung ten thousand li above the earth, and thus seemed small because of the distance. Its true body was even comparable to half the size of East Flower Continent, with the palace within occupying one-tenth of it.
A palace one-twentieth the size of East Flower Continent—its grandeur and magnificence could well be imagined. Its interior was incomparably vast, and at the center stood a huge round table.
Crisscrossing lines covered the round table, forming an enormous chessboard. Its material was difficult to discern. It was not wood, but some strange stone that was crystalline at times, murky at others, and heavy beyond measure.
Twelve chairs stood around the table, made of the same material and equally colossal. More remarkably, each emanated a different artistic conception and aura—some ethereal, some weighty, some compassionate, some cruel, like the temperaments of people. They were called figures because it was plainly apparent that what sat upon them was not tangible matter, but wavering phantoms, projections.
