"You ran off again...!" Jean had plenty to say about Daisy not staying home honestly over the New Year, but seeing Daisy's pitiful expression, she could only agree to help.
In Daisy's view, even if Jean was not skilled at combat, she could still force Thanos back. As long as the Mad Titan had something to fear, there was no need to kill the enemy.
Jean suddenly gave a startled sound and looked at Daisy in alarm. "Phoenix refused to let me fight?! It won't let me go. Why? What enemy did you provoke?"
Daisy silently cursed. Phoenix Mother clearly did not want to get involved in this either. What was she supposed to do now?
She rapidly ran through several options in her mind. "How about this? Go find Galactus. This matter concerns him too. If he can't enter the Negative Space, have him send a few heralds of Galactus!"
The connection was about to collapse. Daisy hurriedly gave Jean the coordinates of Galactus and the others.
"Be careful. Come back safely." Realizing the severity of the situation, Jean took the rare initiative of hugging her.
After exiting Phoenix Space, Daisy had no idea whether Jean could find Galactus's group, whether Galactus could join the battle, or whether he could send several heralds in his place. All of that remained unknown. But she knew the rules this time were not as strict as last time, or she would never have been able to contact Jean at all.
A test... What were they being tested on? Their methods of handling problems, perhaps, or simply their ability to study the rules.
She could not fathom the thoughts of The Supreme Being, but Daisy could only console herself this way. Otherwise, everything she did now would be meaningless.
"It should work, right?"
