Pulling her clothes tighter around herself, she forcibly changed the subject. "Where are we?"
Standing side by side, the two began surveying the crowd around them. There were quite a few people here, packed densely together.
The most eye-catching was a guy sitting blankly on a sofa. Half his mouth hung crooked, and a strand of saliva dangled from it like a frozen thread, hanging there like an icicle.
Not far away, several people were gathered around watching him. Yet their conversation covered everything under the sun, from the Super Bowl to gang vendettas, from apple pie to the space shuttle. They were talking past one another, each saying their own thing, yet somehow having a great time.
"Woo woo woo." Someone sat in a wheelchair, making train-like noises before speeding past them.
Some were talking to flowerpots, some were practicing stir-frying at the air, and someone had taken out a blackboard and covered it with formulas, as though giving a lecture.
"What the hell is this place? A mental hospital?" Daisy had not seen a single normal person here. She felt she had probably guessed the truth.
"This illusory world was imagined by someone with extremely strong psychic powers, right? After dealing with you, they wanted to pull you into this world, and then the shared nature of the Phoenix Force pulled me in as well. Tell me, which Mutant is this? With psychic power on this level, it can't be the Professor again, can it?" she asked Jean tentatively.
