"If only I had the Mind Stone!" Daisy sighed. By her estimate, a new Mind Stone should already have been born somewhere in the universe. She had originally thought there would be one inside David, but there was nothing at all.
Without the Mind Stone, dealing with Ego would be more troublesome.
She could neither blow up the planet's core nor completely erase its consciousness. She needed to take over an intact, living planet.
Ego's consciousness had to go, but its collective consciousness had to remain. Striking that balance was difficult.
She strolled into a broad, magnificent palace as if taking a leisurely walk. It was resplendent in gold and jade, its pillars carved with exquisite, delicate patterns. It was certainly gorgeous at first glance, but upon closer inspection, she found there was nothing substantial here—only pretty decorations.
There were no stories, no history or culture, let alone the light of civilization left behind by intelligent life after countless millennia of blood and fire.
"A little boring." Daisy's sudden voice startled the woman seated at the side of the palace.
She wore a dark green leather vest and knelt on the floor. Hearing Daisy, she hurriedly turned around.
The woman's eyes were larger than those of ordinary humans, and her skin was smooth and lustrous. Daisy could tell that this was an outward sign of abundant psychic power. Most eye-catching of all were the two long antennae on her forehead.
She had turned a little too quickly, and the two antennae trembled as they swayed twice.
"Hi!" Daisy greeted her from afar.
The antennaed woman did not know what sort of etiquette this wave represented, but she innocently waved back.
