The commentator's voice rang out as the two Pokémon on the field simultaneously used their second Max Moves.
However, their moves still collided, and neither Pokémon dealt any real damage to the other.
Leon and Ash exchanged a glance. Both understood what the other was thinking.

After the three Max Moves had been used, both Pokémon exited their Dynamax states.
Looking at the Rillaboom and Dragonite on the field, Leon smiled.

Leon did not hesitate. He immediately took out a Poké Ball and recalled his Rillaboom.
He then sent out his next Pokémon.
"Go, Charizard!"
Leon's ace, Charizard, entered the field, drawing thunderous cheers from the audience.
"Charizard, Mega Evolve!"
Leon did not hesitate and immediately commanded his Charizard to Mega Evolve.
As everyone expected, colorful light flashed across the field, and Mega Charizard X appeared.

"Charizard, Dragon Claw!"
"Dragonite, Dragon Rush!"
After seeing Charizard evolve into Mega Charizard X, Ash did not choose to switch Pokémon. Instead, he directly commanded Dragonite to attack.
Even though Dragonite was no longer Dynamaxed and had not Mega Evolved either, Ash was no longer afraid.
"Mega Charizard X... just as expected."
