Hunter S might not have died.
He had merely been sucked into this special space that belonged exclusively to Thundurus, temporarily unable to return?
Xia Yan could not be sure.
After all, his primary purpose for coming out this time was to find Hunter S's corpse—or, more accurately, the things he had been carrying.
This was information he had learned from Hunter M, who was stationed in Opelucid City.
If Hunter S, or even other hunters, were still on this island, Xia Yan would need to be even more careful.
Of course.
He also needed to be wary of the wild Pokémon living on this island.
Any Pokémon capable of surviving Thundurus's violent lightning unscathed either had tremendous strength, possessed special abilities or traits, or could use Thundurus's lightning to strengthen themselves.
Having raised his guard, Xia Yan continued toward the slope where the stone monument stood.
The trees, shrubs, and every kind of vegetation here seemed capable of insulating themselves from electrical currents to a certain degree.
For instance, Xia Yan saw a massive bolt of lightning strike a tree, reducing it to charcoal and ash without question, while the surrounding trees and plants seemed entirely unaffected.
Fine currents of electricity seemed to be absorbed upon touching these plants—or rather, the plants channeled the current into the soil in their own way.
That was the wonder of nature's evolution.
Hiss—
After entering the dense forest, they finally began seeing traces of wild Pokémon.
A golden thread shot down from the treetops, only to be blocked by Monferno's flaming fist.
Yet, this thread seemed highly resistant to fire. Only the portion that touched the flames burned, while the blaze failed to spread along it, stopped halfway by wisps of electricity wrapped around the thread.
Clearly.
This was no ordinary silk.
