Monferno had finally completed its final evolution!

Unlike other Pokémon, which grew stronger after evolving, it had evolved only after its strength had already increased.

For now, though, the difference did not seem that significant.

The biggest difference between this Infernape and an ordinary one was probably that the flames that should have been golden on its wrists, knees, and shoulders had turned dark red.

Though it was a Shiny Pokémon, the influence of Groudon's energy had made its fur resemble that of an ordinary Infernape instead. Upon close inspection, it was perhaps only slightly darker.

The flames burning on Infernape now extended from its tail to the top of its head, crimson fire swaying freely in the wind.

But the instant its gaze shifted, it suddenly discovered a dense mass of flames following close behind the bone club, appearing right before its eyes.

In Marowak's eyes, the flames seemed to contain more than fire. They carried a terrifying explosive force like an erupting volcano, and within the dark-red blaze flickered strands of golden flame.
