"Could it be that Lord Jiraiya intends to stand up for his disciples?"
Feng Xun turned around and looked at Jiraiya and Konan, his expression changing slightly.
"Come on, what do you mean, 'stand up for them'? I'm these brats' teacher. If I don't stand up for them, who will? Besides, I want to see just how capable Tsunade's disciple really is."
Jiraiya's playful grin did not make Feng Xun lower his guard. He knew that no matter what, he could not defeat Jiraiya right now. Even before the main story had begun, Jiraiya was definitely at least Kage-level.
Helplessly rubbing his nose, Feng Xun looked past the hesitant Konan. "Since Lord Jiraiya wants to test me, why not wait until my teacher returns? Without my teacher's permission, I wouldn't dare fight you so casually."
"Tch, I'll explain it to Tsunade afterward. Better sooner than later—let's spar right now. Of course, for fairness' sake, I definitely won't use any A-rank or higher ninjutsu during our match."
He really dared to say that, when he was clearly terrified of Tsunade deep down.
Looking at Jiraiya's fearless expression, Feng Xun sighed. "If Lord Jiraiya could refrain from using ninjutsu, I think I'd be very happy."
"Haha, not using ninjutsu... that's impossible. You aren't someone I can handle without ninjutsu."
Jiraiya might have been narcissistic, but he was never arrogant. After spending so many days together, he would not simply assume Feng Xun was an easy opponent.
As he spoke, Jiraiya glanced at the indecisive Konan beside him. With a silent sigh, he instructed, "Konan, take Yahiko and the other brat back inside. Leave the rest to your teacher!"
"But..." Konan wanted to persuade Jiraiya not to do this, but when she saw Yahiko and Nagato lying on the ground, she found herself unable to speak.
"I'm not going back! I want to watch from here!" After struggling back to his feet, Yahiko exchanged a glance with Nagato and rejected Jiraiya's goodwill.
"Sigh! Are all kids these days this rebellious?"
Jiraiya looked helpless. With no other choice, after telling Konan to take care of the two, he spoke to Feng Xun again. "This place is too small. Let's go somewhere else."
Watching Jiraiya vanish, Feng Xun hesitated for a moment before following him once more.
Since Jiraiya had set his mind on sparring with him, it seemed he could not avoid it. In that case, he might as well use Jiraiya to test the results of his training these past few days.
One after the other, they arrived at an open clearing.
Jiraiya looked through the dense forest at Feng Xun, who had caught up. "Konan and I heard what you said to Yahiko and the others just now."
"Is that so?" Feng Xun was neither surprised nor inclined to explain himself. That was simply the truth.
Ignoring Feng Xun's attitude, Jiraiya continued, "Konan is a very kind girl. No matter where I go or what I do, whenever I return at night, she always saves a portion of food for me."
"That's because you're her teacher."
"Maybe." Jiraiya pursed his lips. "But I don't just see her as my disciple. I see her as my child too, so I don't want to see my child sad."
At this point, Jiraiya looked at Feng Xun again, his expression turning somewhat serious. "So..."
"So you're a lolicon!" Feng Xun directly cut him off.
"A... a lolicon?" The corners of Jiraiya's mouth twitched, his previously solemn expression gone.
"You brat, don't you know to let adults finish speaking? And if I'm a lolicon, what are you? An older-woman fetishist? You're always glued to Tsunade. I have no idea how you manage it."
"Tsunade is my teacher!" Feng Xun argued expressionlessly.
"Konan is my disciple too!" Jiraiya gritted his teeth.
"I don't care. In my eyes, you're a lolicon. Are we fighting or not? If not, I'm going back."
Feng Xun yawned, looking as though he did not want to say another word to Jiraiya.
"You little punk! Today, I'll teach you a proper lesson on Tsunade's behalf."
Jiraiya's eyelids twitched as his hands rapidly formed seals. He shouted, "Earth Style: Swamp of the Underworld!"
As soon as he spoke, the ground beneath Feng Xun turned into a muddy mire. The earth seemed to become flowing liquid, causing Feng Xun to sink deeper and deeper.
"You little punk, what do you think? Now you know how formidable I am, right?" Jiraiya said smugly.
However, before his smile could last long, Feng Xun slowly rose out of the Swamp of the Underworld.
Watching Feng Xun rise higher and higher until he had even flown above his head, Jiraiya, standing on the ground, grimaced.
This kid can actually fly? It looks slow as hell, but if this keeps up, won't more than half of my Earth Style become useless?
At this moment, the three children finally caught up. When they saw Feng Xun flying, they were all too shocked to speak.
"Hey, hey! Is this for real? This guy can actually fly?" Yahiko felt like his brain was not enough to process it.
But Jiraiya was, after all, one of the Three Sannin. After being surprised for only a moment, he launched another attack.
"Earth Style: Earth Dragon Bullet!"
From the swamp, a vicious earthen dragon raised its head and howled as it charged toward Feng Xun in midair.
Just as Jiraiya had seen, although Feng Xun could fly through the air using the Sky-Dancing Technique, his movements were extremely slow.
Facing the earthen dragon head-on, Feng Xun had no choice but to cancel the Sky-Dancing Technique. Relying on the momentum of free fall, he evaded the Earth Dragon Bullet as it surged into the air.
Then, as Feng Xun landed, he transferred most of the qi within his body into his legs. Using an instant burst of power, he suddenly appeared in front of Jiraiya.
At some point, a black kunai had appeared in Feng Xun's hand, and it instantly pierced through Jiraiya's body.
"Tch, an Earth Clone?"
Seeing Jiraiya turn into mud, Feng Xun tried to leave the spot.
But at that moment, a hand suddenly reached up from beneath the ground.
Earth Style: Headhunter Jutsu.
Just as Jiraiya was about to grab him, Feng Xun's gaze sharpened. His right foot, which had been planted on the ground, instantly shifted three inches backward, neatly avoiding Jiraiya's palm.
Having grabbed nothing, Jiraiya had no choice but to return to the surface. However, his expression was more solemn than before.
"A space-time ninjutsu?"
"Something like that." Feng Xun shrugged and did not deny it.
"I never expected Old Brother Changyou's family to produce a genius capable of using space-time ninjutsu." Jiraiya sounded somewhat emotional.
Feng Xun, however, felt nothing about it. After all, Minato's Flying Thunder God would earn him the title of the Yellow Flash in the future. Compared to his current Time-Skip Technique, his own technique was simply lame as hell.
