Background / History

Miyagi was a member of Shohoku's basketball team alongside Akagi, Mitsui, Rukawa, and Sakuragi. The Kobe Jaguars drafted him the year before Sakuragi joined the club; Mitsui had been drafted two years earlier. Miyagi reunited with Rukawa upon the latter's arrival in Kobe, anticipating the restoration of Shohoku's core on the Jaguars. 9
