Their orders from the start had been to arrest Aramaki and execute him publicly.
Aramaki had killed a Celestial Dragon, and they needed to show the other powers at sea that they still commanded respect.
But now Aramaki was dead, which made things awkward. Mu Chen didn't care. He waved a hand and said helplessly, "Aramaki tried to take me down with him at the end. How is that my fault?"
What Mu Chen had done made sense under the circumstances. If he hadn't gone for the kill, he might not have been able to stop Aramaki.
Borsalino understood that too, but it put him in an awkward spot. He had come as backup, only to sit back and watch.
