When Mu Chen heard that, he smiled and continued, "Wealth, territory... Newgate, stop joking. I'm practically pissing blood here. Where would I get any of that?"
Whitebeard looked helpless after hearing Mu Chen's words. Of course he knew that. "Then what can you do?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Mu Chen calmly said, "I can bring Ace back alive."
"What?"
Whitebeard could no longer remain calm. Mu Chen could bring Ace back alive?
How was that possible?
No matter how he thought about it, it seemed impossible. After all, Mu Chen was a Marine, and an Admiral at that. If he opened a back door for pirates, his reputation and position would be completely ruined.
"Say that again. You can bring Ace back alive?"
Whitebeard's voice was hoarse, as though squeezed from a rusted iron pipe. Every word trembled with disbelief.
Mu Chen leaned back in his chair, his fingertips lightly tapping the tabletop as he calmly met Whitebeard's gaze.
He had known Whitebeard would react this way.

"Gurarararara! Hahaha!" After Mu Chen confirmed it, Whitebeard suddenly burst into roaring laughter, making the chandelier hanging from the ceiling sway from side to side. He laughed for a full half minute.
"A Marine Admiral letting the Pirate King's son go, Mu Chen... do you know what that means?"
"It means I'll be stripped of my rank, hunted by the World Government, and might even be dealt with personally by the Five Elders. But compared to what I want to do, none of that matters."
Mu Chen spoke as if he were talking about someone else's affairs, utterly unconcerned.
