Background

Drooping-Ear Monk is a retainer of the Xue Household and a guest elder of the Myriad Life Sect. He is the abbot of the Thousand-Eyed Bodhisattva Temple, an evil cult whose members mistake demons for gods. His crimes include torturing children to death and assaulting innocent women. 32 35

He personally oversees the forging of an Evil Armament for the Xue Household, using abducted children as blood sacrifices. The weapon is intended to rival the Heavenly Profound Divine Weapons and incorporates the Demon Token of Bo as forging material. 35

While accepting the Xue Household’s funding, he secretly prepares to keep the completed weapon for himself. He establishes a concealed Blood Pool in the rear mountains, feeding it his own essence blood and precious medicinal ingredients over two years as a supplementary ritual resource. 40 42

Before the main temple conflict, Drooping-Ear Monk kills Slender Golden Saber when the latter infiltrates the temple to rescue abducted children. Yin Duanyue later spreads false news that Slender Golden Saber escaped, intending to lure the Heavenly Righteousness Society into an ambush led by the monk’s disciples. 40

Lu Li discovers and destroys the monk’s secret Blood Pool after killing its five guards, including disciples Kong Ye and Yuchen. Their deaths disrupt the planned ambush and cause the Xue Household to demand that Drooping-Ear Monk accelerate the Evil Armament’s completion. 41 42 43

When Lu Li destroys all eight hundred Buddha Soldiers alone, the monk is visibly shaken by the scale of the massacre. He nevertheless immediately arms himself and prepares to confront the intruder. 48
