Peng Shan is a descendant of the Xunshan Peng Clan, a once-prominent family of mechanism craftsmen whose status has declined under the Xue Household's control of weapon forging. The clan's core mechanical arts are traditionally passed only to male descendants. 35 45

When the Peng family refused to oppose the Xue Household over Madam Peng's tragedy, Peng Shan left home in anger with his younger sister Peng Wan'er. The family had limited itself to keeping Madam Peng alive, unwilling to risk retaliation for her sake. 35

He established the Peng Family Noodle Shop in Qingzhou City as a front for righteous activities. Beneath it, he maintained a concealed arsenal of mechanical weapons for the coming struggle against the Thousand-Eyed Bodhisattva Temple. 35 45

Thousand-Baby Sacrifice Rescue

Determined to stop the Thousand-Eyed Bodhisattva Temple from sacrificing one thousand infants, Peng Shan organizes a rescue effort despite believing it may be a journey of no return. He and his allies begin acting before Lu Li formally joins their plans. 37

Lu Li later warns Peng Wan'er that the announced execution of Slender Golden Saber is false, allowing Peng Shan's group to approach the trap with greater caution. Peng Shan restrains Yan Dan from acting prematurely at the execution ground. 40 42

Escalation Against the Temple

After the group rescues dozens of children, Peng Shan thanks Lu Li for his intelligence and warnings, which helped reduce their casualties. 43

When child abductions begin openly within Qingzhou City, Peng Shan accepts Lu Li's proposal to strike first. He reveals the Peng Clan arsenal beneath the noodle shop and begins preparing the group for a direct attack on the Thousand-Eyed Bodhisattva Temple. 44 45
