When Did Celestial Immortals Become a Dime a Dozen?

Queen Mother of the West took a deep breath inwardly and calmed her emotions. For some reason, the composure and reserve she had cultivated over countless years always fell apart whenever she encountered Lu Ren.

She had clearly heard far more outrageous things before without getting angry in the slightest, yet whenever she met Lu Ren, just a few words from him were enough to break through her defenses.

Queen Mother of the West shook her head slightly. "I don't know. That black mist appeared without warning. I was caught off guard and became tainted by it."

As she said this, lingering fear filled Queen Mother of the West's heart. It was difficult for her to imagine anything in this world besides supermassive white dwarfs with their immense gravity, or black holes with their terrifying pull, that could threaten a Celestial Immortal's life. Even a supernova explosion would at most leave one severely injured.

If someone with Lu Ren's physique stood inside one, he would at most lose a layer of skin.

At their level, severed arms and legs counted as minor injuries. They were nothing worth mentioning.

Yet now, merely a wisp of black mist had completely dragged her mind into oblivion. It was truly terrifying.
