Lu Ren looked around and, after confirming there was nothing unusual, realized that he had indeed arrived at a gathering of cave heavens that had spontaneously formed for some reason.
It was like heading into the middle of a desolate wilderness, thinking the place was uninhabited, only to turn a corner and find a huge crowd towing RVs of all sizes over for a picnic.
The absurdity of it felt like he had lived as a savage in a primeval forest for ten or twenty years, only to take a few more steps and suddenly arrive in the civilized world.
Lu Ren did not disturb these Celestial Immortals who had stopped here temporarily. No one knew one another very well, and murder and robbery had occurred often along the way. Though Lu Ren considered his own journey free of danger, he had nonetheless spent a lonely hundred years alone.
During that time, however, Lu Ren had sensed faintly discernible vicious auras lurking in the darkness. If he had not released a trace of the formidable aura of the Late Celestial Immortal realm, with one foot practically in the Celestial Immortal Pinnacle, he likely would have had to fight his way free.
"Those damned Robber Cultivators!"
Lu Ren could not help cursing under his breath. These days, he often regretted exposing his aura in advance. Otherwise, he might have been able to obtain some abundant resources from those Robber Cultivators.
Murder and arson brought golden belts; building bridges and repairing roads left not even a corpse behind.
If one wanted to get rich overnight, toiling away day after day in mines would never accomplish anything great. Only by becoming a Robber Cultivator could one find replenishment on this Path to Ascension, where no resources could otherwise be obtained.
Once he left
