"Put me down! No one has ever dared treat me like this!" The little boy wildly flailed his arms, trying to break free from that large hand's grip. His face twisted viciously with anger.
Jin An readily let go of the collar he was holding. "Watch that tone, kid, or I might actually beat you up."
"Ahhh! My butt!" The little boy clutched his thoroughly smashed backside and rolled back and forth across the ground.
Watching Donquixote Doflamingo roll around as though he would rather be dead, Jin An leisurely crouched down and took out his Den Den Mushi. This kid was overreacting a little, wasn't he?
A teasing glint suddenly flashed through Jin An's eyes. Since the boy was not afraid of embarrassing himself, Jin An would make sure to record this moment properly. It might add a little fun in the future.
This kid had become his apprentice now. To be honest, Jin An was still somewhat reluctant about it.
Donquixote Doflamingo was the kind of ruthless person who had no regard for human life at eight and dared to personally kill his own father at ten.
Taking in an apprentice like that, Jin An was afraid of getting stabbed in the back...
"What are you doing?!" Seeing the Den Den Mushi in Jin An's hand, Doflamingo stopped rolling around. Clutching his butt, he struggled to climb back to his feet.
Jin An tucked the Den Den Mushi into his pocket. "Recording beautiful moments."
Doflamingo shot Jin An an angry glare. This person looked harmless and easygoing, but after actually spending time with him, Doflamingo felt that he was not a good person at all.
He had only cursed a few times, yet he had been dealt with in all sorts of ways. Just moments ago, he had even been dragged by the collar past so many people. At the thought of it, his face felt as if it were burning.
He cared about his pride too, okay...
And this person seemed to have some issue with his sunglasses. He had kept staring at them. Doflamingo thought they looked cool.
At that thought, the wariness in Doflamingo's eyes seemed to deepen. It was as though the person before him bore some deep grudge against him. "What exactly is your purpose in bringing me here? Why didn't you bring my brother?"
Hearing Doflamingo question him again, the idle Jin An snapped back to his senses and looked at the furious boy.
After being influenced by the Celestial Dragons for so long, even these children were filled with a sense of superiority. They simply did not regard others as people.
If that habit was stripped away in a short period of time, it would cause an even greater change in their already warped worldview. Perhaps it would develop in a better direction, but it was more likely to become even worse.
So bad that the evil in their hearts would be magnified without limit, until it consumed them from within and spread to innocent people.
From what Jin An knew, Doflamingo was clearly the second type. The reason he wore sunglasses was also because of the desires and violence buried deep within his heart.
The current Doflamingo had not yet suffered after exposing his identity as a Celestial Dragon. At most, he looked down on ordinary people. He had not yet developed the mindset of wanting to destroy everything.
With that in mind, when Jin An looked at Doflamingo again, a warm smile returned to his face. "From now on, you'll follow me. If I tell you to go east, you can't go west. Your next task is to learn how to obey orders."
Looking at the smiling Jin An, Doflamingo suddenly felt a chill run through his body for some reason. Still unwilling to submit, his eyes behind his sunglasses glared fixedly at Jin An. "A mere colonel like you isn't qualified to talk to me about obedience. The lowest-ranking person around me used to be a major general."
"My status and position are not something you can order around as you please. Even though my father took us away from Mary Geoise, we are still noble Celestial Dragons!"
He possessed an extraordinary confidence. It had accompanied him for eight years, and even now, he remained confident.
"Are Celestial Dragons really that impressive?"
Jin An smiled disdainfully, leaned close to Doflamingo's ear, and spoke in a devilish whisper:
"Aren't they just a bunch of pigs raised in Mary Geoise? They eat, sleep, then eat again. Useless trash that gains nothing but weight, living off the benefits left behind by their predecessors while doing things worse than beasts."
"Do you really think that identity makes you so noble? There are plenty of people in this world who can erase someone's existence without making a sound."
"So why can't that person be a Celestial Dragon?"
The Celestial Dragons had always considered themselves the descendants of the creators. Many of them even believed themselves too noble to breathe the same air as ordinary people, having ruled this world for eight hundred years.
But had something always being that way ever meant it was right? Jin An thought that was complete nonsense.
Practice was the sole criterion for testing truth, and strength was the stepping stone for proving it.
"So, child, don't think so highly of yourself. Take a good look at who you really are."
Doflamingo had already been frightened senseless by Jin An's words. He could not believe that someone viewed the Celestial Dragons this way. He could not believe that the identity he had always been proud of was worthless in the other person's eyes. He could not believe there was not a trace of emotion in this person's eyes.
He was serious...!
"Alright, I won't scare you anymore." Jin An restrained his expression.
"But there's one thing I need to tell you."
"The Celestial Dragons no longer recognize your status as Celestial Dragons, from the moment you left Mary Geoise."
Under Doflamingo's horrified gaze, Jin An continued, "Even if you kill the father who caused all this, you won't gain anything."
"Oh, except for the mockery of those high-and-mighty Celestial Dragons."
Looking at Doflamingo's blank stare, Jin An continued, "Get up. Follow me from now on. I'll give you things the Celestial Dragons cannot: power, freedom, strength—whatever you want can be achieved."
"And let me give you one piece of advice: your family is the most precious thing you have. If you lose them, you will definitely regret it!"
As he said this, a trace of loneliness appeared in Jin An's eyes. He had already lost his family forever, from the moment he came to this world.
"..."
As soon as Jin An finished speaking, an urgent voice came from behind him.
"Boss, you're finally back! The guest has been waiting inside for quite a while!" Seeing Jin An outside the door, the receptionist immediately shouted.
Jin An smacked his forehead. He had been so focused on educating the child that he had completely forgotten about Dragon and the others. Now he really did seem rather rude.
"Seeing you in person is better than hearing of you." Dragon slowly stepped into view within the Marine base.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Monkey D. Dragon." Dragon had a sturdy build and stood around two hundred centimeters tall. With Jin An standing before him, Jin An looked like an undergrown child.
But in terms of presence, Jin An firmly surpassed Dragon...
"Nice to meet you..."
