Deep within the brilliantly lit cabin, the newly appointed Five Elders sat around an enormous round table.
Blood spread across the sea as fierce cannon fire and crashing impacts rose and fell. The pungent stench of gunpowder and blood filled the air.
Even so, the allied forces led by Jin An continued to crush their way forward, while the World Government's God's Knights suffered mounting losses with each clash. Corpses bobbed amid the raging waves, and scarlet stained the vast ocean.
The Five Elders stood aboard the warship, looking down at the battlefield, their expressions as grim as the eve of a storm at sea.
The man at the front slowly clenched his fist, his gaze so dark it seemed ready to drip with water.
He took a deep breath and spoke in a low, unwilling voice:
"Most of the ones dying may be trash, but God's Knights are our elite. We can't let this continue."
As his voice fell, another Five Elder slowly turned his head. Golden pupils gleamed dangerously in the light of the war.
His gaze swept over the battlefield before finally settling on Jin An.
That man still stood tall like the ruler of the battlefield, a faint smile even lingering on his face.
As though he were mocking their helplessness.
A Five Elder's deeply furrowed brow creased his forehead. He snorted coldly and said in a low voice:
"But Jin An and his people still show no sign of weakening.
Have you forgotten why the previous Five Elders died?"
