Shi Junyi narrowed his eyes and was about to kick Jiang Qiao again when Jiang Qiao rolled off him first, lay on the floor clutching his lower abdomen, and said, "Stop kicking, brother. Another kick and I'll die."
Shi Junyi sat up from the floor and reached to lift Jiang Qiao's shirt.
Jiang Qiao grabbed the hem and refused to let him see.
"Let go," Shi Junyi said.
Jiang Qiao pressed down on the back of his hand. "I'm fine. I was joking."
Joking? If he found out I got my ass handed to me by one of Shi Youxi's little mutts, wouldn't that be humiliating as hell?
Shi Junyi released his hand. "You're really okay?"
Jiang Qiao nodded. "Really."
Shi Junyi did not force him any further. He merely stood and extended his right hand toward Jiang Qiao.
Jiang Qiao took his hand and used it to pull himself up. He did not appear to be hurt.
Shi Junyi had seen Jiang Qiao fight before. His reflexes and practical combat skills were undeniably top-tier.
Jiang Qiao might be terrible with a gun, but in a real fight, Shi Junyi was not necessarily capable of beating him.
A sneak attack would most likely fail as well.
So Shi Junyi simply pulled a gun from beneath the pillow and pressed it to Jiang Qiao's forehead. "Don't move."
Jiang Qiao raised both hands.
Shi Junyi went to lift Jiang Qiao's shirt.
Jiang Qiao tried to dodge again.
Shi Junyi chambered a round. "I said, don't move."
Jiang Qiao fell silent, unable to tell whether Shi Junyi was worried about him or wanted him dead.
What kind of cops-and-robbers roleplay kink was this bastard playing at? Wasn't he afraid the gun would actually go off?
Jiang Qiao behaved himself. Compared with saving face, he chose saving his life first.
Shi Junyi lifted Jiang Qiao's shirt and saw a wide, horizontal purple bruise beneath the skin around his waist and abdomen.
Judging by its position, if it had not been for those fairly solid abdominal muscles, an ordinary person might have had their internal organs knocked out of place by that blow.
Shi Junyi's expression immediately turned cold.
Jiang Qiao was the sort of person who would cry for ages and act pitiful after getting a tiny cut from nail clippers, yet he hid his injuries when he was genuinely hurt.
Shi Junyi gently placed his hand over the bruise and asked Jiang Qiao, "Who did this?"
Jiang Qiao stubbornly said, "I bumped into something by accident."
"Bumped into something? What did you bump into?" Shi Junyi asked.
"The edge of the bed," Jiang Qiao said.
Shi Junyi looked at him. "The edge of a bed could do this?"
"Yes." Jiang Qiao remained obstinate.
"So you got into a fight with the bed?" Shi Junyi asked.
Jiang Qiao froze for a moment, then replied without changing expression, "If I said the bed hit me first, would you believe me, brother?"
Shi Junyi gave a cold laugh. "What do you think?"
Jiang Qiao spouted nonsense aloud while cursing under his breath.
That damned big black mutt. Just wait until next time—I'll fuck you up.
A big black mutt under Shi Youxi.
Shi Junyi swiftly narrowed down the possibilities in his mind.
He switched on the safety, removed the magazine, pulled back the slide to clear the chamber, then tossed the gun onto the bed.
"Lie down," he told Jiang Qiao.
Jiang Qiao demurely said, "That wouldn't be appropriate..."
"Then get the hell—" Shi Junyi said.
Off.
Before he could finish saying "off," Jiang Qiao had already kicked off his shoes and thrown himself onto the bed with lightning speed.
He struck an extremely seductive pose, patted the bed, and winked at Shi Junyi. "Come on, brother."
Luckily, his face was impossibly handsome and his body was exquisite.
Otherwise, he would definitely have reminded people of workers in certain special professions.
Shi Junyi turned and walked away.
Jiang Qiao sprang up. "Where are you going?"
"To wash my eyes," Shi Junyi said.
Jiang Qiao's face fell. He sprawled out on the bed in the shape of a starfish and did not move.
He heard Shi Junyi enter the bathroom, open drawers and rummage around for a long while, then come back out and pat Jiang Qiao's bare thigh, telling him to move farther in and stop taking up so much space.
Jiang Qiao treasured every chance he got to lie on Shi Junyi's bed. Obediently drawing in his limbs, he shifted stiffly to the very edge of the bed to make room for Shi Junyi.
Shi Junyi held a glass bottle containing a pale red liquid.
He unscrewed the cap and poured a little into his palm. A sharp yet cool scent flooded Jiang Qiao's nose.
"What is that?" Jiang Qiao asked.
"Poison," Shi Junyi said.
"But you touched it too." Jiang Qiao thought he was lying to him.
"I have an antidote," Shi Junyi said.
Jiang Qiao asked, "Then can you kiss me? That way, I'll die without regrets."
Shi Junyi ignored him. He rubbed his hands warm and slowly massaged the bruised area on Jiang Qiao's abdomen.
Jiang Qiao moaned comfortably.
Then, as Shi Junyi's hands grew stronger, Jiang Qiao's voice grew louder too.
His eyelashes are so long. Fuck, they're beautiful.
"Ow, ow, ow! Easier, easier."
He's so fierce. I love it.
The veins at Shi Junyi's temples throbbed. He closed his eyes, stopped moving his hands, and said, "Shut up, Jiang Qiao."
Outside the door.
Chris frowned and asked Chen Sheng, "Did you hear something?"
Chen Sheng nodded. "It sounded like it came from the young master's room."
Chris looked confused. "What was he doing?"
Chen Sheng and Chris exchanged a glance, then tacitly pressed their ears to the door at the same time.
After a moment, Chen Sheng said, "It sounds pretty exciting."
Chris agreed. "But who's in there with him?"
Chen Sheng shook his head. Since Shi Junyi had not called for them, it meant they did not need to know. As an excellent bodyguard—especially a bodyguard of the Shi family—one absolutely could not use one's brain when it was not needed.
So he said, "He's probably watching a movie."
Chris understood.
Inside the room.
Jiang Qiao shut his mouth, propped himself up with one hand, shifted higher, and leaned against the headboard as he stared intently at Shi Junyi.
Every part of him looked good.
The more Jiang Qiao looked, the more he liked him.
"Keep looking, and I'll gouge out your eyeballs," Shi Junyi said.
Jiang Qiao looked aggrieved. "You won't let me talk, and you won't let me look. You're so harsh with me, brother."
Shi Junyi put the bottle of medicated oil on the bedside table, then pulled out a disinfectant wipe and cleaned his hands.
Looking at the small cut on the corner of Jiang Qiao's mouth that he had bitten open, he asked, "Do you know who came here just now?"
Jiang Qiao tacitly understood. "What did he tell you, brother?"
Shi Junyi asked in return, "What are you afraid he might tell me?"
Jiang Qiao said, "I'm completely innocent. What would I have to fear?"
Shi Junyi met his eyes. "He told me about your sweet history together."
"What sweet history could I possibly have with him?" Jiang Qiao refused to admit it.
"He said you like him," Shi Junyi said.
"Then he's completely full of shit," Jiang Qiao said.
He sat up and wrapped his arms around Shi Junyi's waist, pressing his cheek against him.
Clingingly, he said, "I only like you."
