Penglai, One of the Three Overseas Islands

Time flowed like water, and a hundred years passed just like that. One day, Yuan Tian rose and said to the two Green Willows beside him, "Children, your father is about to travel to the Primordial Continent for training. Cultivate well on Penglai Island, understand?" "We understand, Father." Though the two Green Willows were reluctant to see Yuan Tian leave their side, they knew he must have matters to attend to on the Primordial Continent. They could not delay him, so they answered obediently.

"Good, my children. When Father returns, I hope to see your cultivation improve further. I will now pass on the cultivation art I practice to you. You two can discuss it with each other in your spare time. It would be best if you could use this art to create one that belongs to you alone." With that, Yuan Tian pointed a finger and transmitted his cultivation art to the two Green Willows.

"Thank you, Father, for passing down your art. We will cultivate diligently. Take care on your journey, Father!" the two little ones answered in unison.

"Good. Father is leaving." After Yuan Tian spoke, he vanished, leaving only the two Little Green Willows behind.

In truth, Yuan Tian had not left the island. He was merely inspecting Penglai Island. This island was called Penglai Island, and it was quite famous. It was said that when the great god Pangu cleaved apart the Primordial Chaos with his axe, several fragments of Primordial Chaos drifted into the Eastern Sea and became the five immortal mountains of Daiyu, Yuanjiao, Fanghu, Yingzhou, and Penglai. Of them, the two smallest immortal islands, Daiyu and Yuanjiao, had been worn away over the long years, leaving only Fanghu, Yingzhou, and Penglai, which formed an innate three-talents configuration together.

The immortal island Yuan Tian currently inhabited was Penglai Island, later known as a gathering place for Loose Immortals and a renowned blessed land of immortals. In later generations, Qin Shi Huang would send Xu Fu to Penglai Island in search of an immortal elixir. But where in the world could such an elixir be found? Even immortals themselves could not claim to be deathless, so how could they give anyone an immortal elixir? Qin Shi Huang was therefore destined for disappointment—and death.

Come to think of it, since being reborn in the Primordial Wilderness, Yuan Tian had never properly examined his birthplace. Well, it could now be called his lair. It was a famous immortal island of later generations; he truly should not have neglected it.

Before leaving, Yuan Tian planned to thoroughly explore this Penglai Immortal Island, renowned in later generations. At this time, Penglai Island spanned ten million li in every direction. Looking out, one could not see its limits. Yuan Tian could only determine its size through Divine Sense. Through his Divine Sense, he discovered that the outer regions of Penglai Island were surrounded by Primordial Chaos qi. Even with Yuan Tian's current cultivation, he was deeply wary of it. Only the area where Yuan Tian and the two Green Willows resided had not been swallowed by the Primordial Chaos qi. Within that largest mountain range stood five particularly massive mountains. He was certain that some spiritual treasure lay within the formation, and its grade was not low. It was highly likely to be a high-grade magic treasure containing the five elements, or a divine beast with a five-element affinity. Obviously—if it were low-grade, would it receive the protection of an Innate Five-Element Formation? Yuan Tian himself had once enjoyed the protection of an innate formation. Before he took form, that formation had protected him. It was called the Breath-Concealing Formation. Though its name was unimpressive, its function was excellent. It had only one function: concealing every trace of aura within the formation, preventing others from divining anything inside. Not even the Heavenly Dao could do so. Its aura-concealing ability was practically heaven-defying, but it possessed neither defensive nor offensive power. As a result, when Yuan Tian took form, the heavenly tribulation gave it a "gentle" touch, and it was finished.

But the Innate Five-Element Formation was different. The five great mountains had been surrounded by Primordial Chaos qi for countless years, yet the formation remained as vigorous as ever, showing just how extraordinary it was. It could also convert Primordial Chaos qi into innate five-element spiritual qi, though the conversion speed was somewhat slow. Once the formation was activated, it could even trap a Sage. Once he entered, he probably would not be able to leave.

Yuan Tian was fairly familiar with five-element formations. His inherited memories contained some knowledge of formation arts, and in his first life—introduced in Chapter Two—he could be called a formation grandmaster. Though he could not set up an Innate Five-Element Formation himself, with Yuan Tian's attainments in formations, he could still come and go freely through this uncontrolled formation before him.

If he were given five five-element Innate Treasures, he too could set up an Innate Five-Element Formation. Of course, the formation's power would depend on the strength of the treasures used to establish it. To set up a top-tier Innate Five-Element Formation, the best choice would be Top-Grade Innate Spirit Treasures with five-element attributes, such as the Innate Five-Element Banners. An Innate Five-Element Formation created with the Innate Five-Element Banners could absolutely be considered one of the top formations in the Primordial Wilderness, standing alongside the Witch Clan's Twelve Heavenly Gods Baleful Formation, the Demon Clan's Great All-Heavens Star Formation, and Tongtian Patriarch's Immortal-Slaying Formation. Unfortunately, ever since the five leaves of the Chaos Supreme Treasure, the Chaos Green Lotus, transformed into the Innate Five-Element Banners, the five top-grade innate spiritual banners had never been gathered together again. Even the Dao Ancestor had not collected all five banners. Could Yuan Tian do it? Perhaps. Maybe he could. Everything depended on fate and his own efforts. When fate arrived, coupled with his own hard work, perhaps Yuan Tian truly would succeed. No one could say for certain, could they?
