With Sage Nuwa backing Fuxi, few dared to provoke him. But "few" meant there were still some who did—and the Witch Clan was among them.

Every member of the Witch Clan could be called a bold-as-heaven sort, and the Twelve Ancestral Shamans were the classics among them. Never mind that the person before them was not a Sage himself—even if a Sage came in person, the Twelve Ancestral Shamans would not give him much face. At the very least, they would fight first. And you had better win, or else you could go back to doing whatever you had been doing.

The clearest example came at the final moment of the first truly significant war between the Witch and Demon Clans. The Witch Clan's dominance had been spilling over; they had nearly crippled the Demon Race. It was then that Dao Ancestor Hongjun intervened, much to the displeasure of the Twelve Ancestral Shamans. Wasn't Hongjun said to be the number one expert of the Primordial Wilderness? Then today, the Witch Clan would weigh Hongjun's worth and see just how strong the so-called number one expert truly was.

So they directly went to war with Hongjun. Though the final outcome was that the Twelve Ancestral Shamans could not defeat him, Hongjun did not have it easy either. The Pangu True Body summoned by the Twelve Ancestral Shamans was simply too powerful; even Sage Hongjun found it somewhat unbearable.

That at least proved one thing: not only was the Witch Clan exceptionally powerful, their courage was enormous as well. They even dared to fight the Dao Ancestor. Who else would they not dare to provoke?
