Before long, the three arrived somewhere deserted.

Under the other two's watch, Sunshine Boy made three Life-Replacement Wooden Children in succession, using up three Bait Fate Molds and placing one inside each.
Thick branches formed their torsos, thin branches their limbs, and locust leaves were rolled into balls for heads.
Hair was scattered over the leaves, while their necks were connected with Good Fortune Born's fingernails.
Sunshine Boy exhausted all his magical power, his face turning slightly pale. He tucked one close to his body and handed the other two Life-Replacement Wooden Children to Book-Listener and Foodie respectively.
Sunshine Boy said, "These Life-Replacement Wooden Children not only require Fate Molds, but also body materials willingly given by someone with powerful luck. They consume a great deal too, which is why I hadn't made them before. Unfortunately, my rank is limited and so are my Fate Materials. These Life-Replacement Wooden Children can take wounds in your place, but they may not be able to take death in your place. Make do with them."
Then Sunshine Boy took a box from the bookcase on his back, attached talisman paper to it, and after the three discussed it, gave it to Foodie.
The three returned to the public office. Sunshine Boy looked at the Night Guards and said, "Next, I'll make Wooden Talisman Figures, mainly for blessings and warding off filth. I can't promise they'll be of great use, but small evils and minor disasters
