Boer?
As Qin Ran watched the figure walk in, he almost instantly recalled brushing past him last time.
The strange sense of familiarity Boer had given Qin Ran then was still vivid in his memory. They had clearly never met, yet he had felt as though he knew him.
This time, however, that feeling was gone.
It seemed that the strange familiarity last time had been an illusion.
But had it really been an illusion?
Qin Ran certainly did not think so.
Watching Boer greet the people around him with easy familiarity, walk straight to the bar, and ask Rachel for a glass of plain water, Qin Ran raised an eyebrow.
That sense of familiarity had returned.
"Hey, 2567, this is Boer, the new guy."
"Boer, I don't need to introduce this fellow, do I?"
"Trust me, you two are bound to become good friends."
"After all, this is the first time I've met two people who are equally stingy."
With Lawless busy, the tavern's landlady handled the introductions. Unlike Lawless, who sincerely introduced his friends to one another, however, she was mostly teasing them.
"Points aren't easy to come by."
Qin Ran shrugged as he spoke, his gaze fixed on Boer all the while.
Boer nodded, looking thoroughly in agreement.
Then, unwilling to talk much more with Qin Ran, he maintained a cold, unapproachable air.
Qin Ran gave him another once-over, then turned and left.
Boer was certainly worth watching, but this sort of face-to-face surveillance was far too inefficient. Even an ordinary person knew to keep their guard up around strangers.
He would need a few special methods.
Passing Lawless, Qin Ran greeted his friend before striding out of the tavern.
Watching Qin Ran disappear through the door, Boer raised his head.
There was puzzlement in his eyes.
