No one could resist being moved.
As for The Ends of the Earth, it was a Penguin Logistics outpost located in Lungmen's city district, and that outpost was...
A bar.
More precisely, a rather expensive bar.
Vroom!
The black sedan speeding down the empty road finished with a sharp drift, successfully pulling into a parking spot outside a bar with a sign.
Three people stepped out of the car.
Texas.
Exusiai.
And Xiao Huasheng, dressed in a black bulletproof vest.
With Exusiai and Texas having given up trying to think.
The three of them walked into the bar together like partners who had worked together for years.
Click.
The door opened, revealing an equally bizarre scene inside.
To the rock music playing from a vinyl record, a well-dressed giant penguin in sunglasses was dancing wildly, while two people beside it sat laughing happily.
Sora.
Croissant.
"Boss! It's still missing a little something!" Croissant said.
"A special guest needs more than just that!" Sora said.
An indescribable penguin shriek.
The penguin gripped the microphone behind its back and raised its head, looking exceptionally fierce beneath the somewhat frenzied music.
"How was that? Enough kick for you?" Emperor said.
Under the dazzling lights, the Penguin Logistics crew had gathered here.
There were not many of them, only six in total.
Yet it had a flavor all its own.
"Exusiai and Texas are back too? Perfect, we're having a party. Come sing a line with us?"
Croissant raised her wineglass from afar and shouted.
"Watching the boss sing is enough." Texas found a seat and sat down.
"Yeah, watching the boss bounce around is pretty entertaining too." Exusiai chuckled and sat down.
"If it's a party, the music should definitely be louder." Xiao Huasheng followed local customs and sat beside Exusiai, chuckling as well.
Sora looked over in confusion and asked.
"Boss, aren't the lights a little too bright? There's an extra Exusiai now."
And because of that.
Emperor could not help taking off its sunglasses and looking toward the sofa seats below.
One Exusiai.
Two...
Apple pies?
"I haven't even been drinking!"
Emperor cried out.
"Yo, boss."
Xiao Huasheng casually greeted it, without the slightest hint of awkwardness.
That casual greeting left the entire Penguin Logistics crew stunned.
"Wait, Exusiai, why are you wearing that?"
Sora asked Xiao Huasheng.
She spread her hands naturally. "A lot happened. Do you want to hear the story?"
Before Sora could be talked into it, Exusiai finally could not help speaking.
"Actually, Texas and I ran into her on the road. She looks exactly like me."
As she spoke, Exusiai could not help snickering. "Seriously, I thought I was looking in a mirror."
"Why are you blurting out the truth? Actually, I'm your long-lost twin sister."
"Huh?" Exusiai was instantly dumbfounded.
That was a possible setup?
Watching the two Exusiai interact, even the party seemed to grind to a halt.
"What are you all standing around for? If she's Exusiai's twin sister, then there's nothing more to say. Music, go!"
Emperor let out another shriek, then started rocking out to the music.
Croissant, Sora, and Texas quickly turned their heads away too.
They swayed along with Emperor. The utterly absurd sight was somehow perfectly harmonious.
But Exusiai fell into deep thought.
A twin sister?
She had never heard that she had a twin sister.
But this person who had suddenly appeared before her...
Looked so much like her.
"You..."
Exusiai had just wanted to ask Xiao Huasheng about it, but in the blink of an eye, Xiao Huasheng had vanished.
When she looked again, Xiao Huasheng was already standing beside the bar counter.
"Hey, I want to sing!"
That was what she said to Emperor as she generously held out her hand.
"Sure! Then today will become a welcome party for Exusiai's little sister! Oh yeah!"
Emperor swiftly handed over the microphone. Xiao Huasheng caught it smoothly and naturally began singing at full volume.
"Then here I go!!"
At once, another burst of singing rang out.
An indescribable angelic shriek.
"You've got this!" Croissant raised her hand and cheered, looking as though she were about to leap into the air.
"Go, Exusiai's little sister!" Sora shouted too, her face full of delight.
"Mm." Texas merely watched.
Emperor also shook its penguin butt to the rap beat.
Everything was so harmonious and natural.
Exusiai froze for a moment. Was she the only one still hung up on this?
That was not fun at all.
"How could I let you steal all the spotlight?"
Exusiai gave up dwelling on it and walked over as well.
Strange things always happened in life. If she had lived this long without anything strange ever happening, that would have been strange.
The moment she stepped onto the stage, she immediately ignited the atmosphere.
Amid the cheers of everyone at Penguin Logistics, she came to Xiao Huasheng's side as she giggled.
She grabbed the microphone in Xiao Huasheng's hand, and the two began singing together.
The Exusiais could not have been more familiar with this song.
Xiao Huasheng was no stranger to it either.
A true angelic duet.
After finishing the song, Xiao Huasheng burst into laughter. It had truly been a long time since she had laughed so freely and wholeheartedly.
Exusiai sat on the floor and giggled too, her eyes curving into crescents.
In her previous life, she had always lived along the same three-point routine.
She had thought her whole life would pass that way.
But heaven had given her a chance to start over.
She was thrilled beyond measure.
How wonderful!
She did not need to carry so much anymore. She could simply follow her heart!
She let out a soft breath. Only then did she truly feel the reality of having crossed into another world.
So this world really was this beautiful.
Damn It, the Lifespan Debate Is Still Chasing Me
Lungmen's current situation could still be considered peaceful.
Not only Lungmen, but the entirety of Terra could be considered peaceful.
Except for the Infected.
But that had nothing to do with Xiao Huasheng. Right now, she had only one thought left in her heart.
She wanted to join Penguin Logistics.
Xiao Huasheng was immortal. Everything around her was destined to drift past like fleeting clouds and smoke.
Even Exusiai would eventually disappear from her life.
At the very least, she wanted to hold this happiness tightly in her hands right now.
The party was over, and the songs had been sung.
The Penguin Logistics crew lay sprawled all over the place, sleeping soundly.
Exusiai's elbow was pressed against Xiao Huasheng's face.
Xiao Huasheng struggled to get up. Alcohol had no effect on her; at most, she could taste it.
Exusiai, on the other hand, looked completely drunk out of her mind.
"Sing... sing a little more..."
Drool ran from her mouth. Her usual image had been utterly shattered by that terrible sleeping face.
A gentle smile appeared on Xiao Huasheng's face as she covered Exusiai with the blanket beside her.
Exusiai mumbled in her sleep, curling into a little ball beneath the blanket.
"Boss, you're not drunk, are you?"
Xiao Huasheng said this to the giant penguin that appeared to be collapsed on the floor.
Sure enough, the penguin really was not drunk. It sprang to its feet and put on its sunglasses.
"Of course not, Little Girl. I'm not drunk. And don't call me boss. I'm not your boss; I'm your big sister's boss."
That was what it said. Its attitude toward Xiao Huasheng was that she was Exusiai's younger sister.
