Angela spoke.
Then she muttered quietly, "I should've killed that guy first."
"Huh?"
Xiao Huasheng looked at her, her eyes widening.
Angela quickly resumed her professional expression and said,
"Anyway, this is both a hot potato and an opportunity. With it, we might be able to go a step further—or everything could be reset to zero."
Angela said,
"How does that sound like a good choice?" Xiao Huasheng's eye twitched.
At that moment, Angela did some calculations for Xiao Huasheng.
"From the moment you went all out, Manager, slaughtering your way across that chaotic battlefield, only five minutes actually passed."
Xiao Huasheng was startled when she heard that.
"I was down after only five minutes?"
"Yes, you were a five-minute real woman."
"What kind of thing is that to say?"
Xiao Huasheng pouted and narrowed her eyes as she spoke.
While Xiao Huasheng was hesitating, Angela put forth a hypothesis.
"The reason we were able to escape the Foundation was largely because there were no visual restrictions. If someone had been watching us the whole time, there would have been no way we could escape the Foundation. Five minutes wouldn't have been enough to do anything. In the end, our energy would have been exhausted, and we would have been locked away forever."
"Mm... I think so too. If someone was willing to build a huge enough prison for us, they might really be able to lock me up forever. And if nobody kept dying and there were no souls, then once our sins were redeemed, One Sin and Hundreds of Good Deeds would also lose its ability to supply energy."
"By then, we would die."
Angela placed a hand on her hip, closed her eyes, and answered calmly.
"So it really is a problem?"
As a Lobotomy Corporation player—commonly known as a Moon Project player—Xiao Huasheng had at least made it to Day 20 as a so-called "expert."
All of a sudden, she regretted not clearing Lobotomy Corporation.
What if they encountered an Abnormality she did not know how to handle? Wouldn't that be a disaster?
After all, she and Angela were essentially one and the same.
Angela naturally possessed all of Xiao Huasheng's memories.
Their personalities and appearances differed, but their memories were the same.
If Angela encountered an Abnormality she had absolutely no idea how to handle, how much would they have to sacrifice to figure out that Abnormality's patterns?
There was no tutorial here.
They had to rely entirely on themselves.
"It's fine. Go ahead without worry. If there's truly no other way, I have a backup plan." Angela saw through her concerns and spoke with complete confidence.
"What backup plan?"
To be safe, Xiao Huasheng still cautiously asked.
The answer she received, however, was unexpected.
"Just release the Abnormality. Throw it out."
"You can do that?"
"You were able to throw me into the real world. When containment fails, just throw the Abnormality out. It's as simple as throwing away trash."
Angela said it in a relaxed tone.
"I don't think taking out the trash is this scary."
Still, Xiao Huasheng knew that she was in the midst of a chaotic battlefield.
No matter which side won, once they discovered her, they would immediately imprison her.
And she would soon end up in the very situation Angela had predicted.
Because Xiao Huasheng did not last long enough, five minutes was nowhere near enough time for her to escape.
If it really came to that, Xiao Huasheng could only wait to die.
Perhaps before the next war even began, she would turn into a statue from energy depletion.
So Xiao Huasheng stopped hesitating and opened the blind box.
The moment she did, Angela and Xiao Huasheng stared at each other wide-eyed, as though they had seen something filthy.
T-01-31: Silent Orchestra Level: ALEPH [The most magnificent performance from the ruins is about to begin!] Description: "Silent Orchestra" (T-01-31) resembled a humanoid plastic mannequin within its containment unit, but it had neither the mannequin's legs nor arms. Where its legs should have been were a support pillar and base, and it wore a black-and-white outfit resembling a tailcoat. The entity inside the containment unit was merely the orchestra conductor of the "Silent Orchestra." The ensemble also consisted of four other entities resembling "singers," but they would only appear around the conductor after the "Silent Orchestra" breached containment. This was an Abnormality that loved art and sought to perform music for the company. A conductor's responsibility was not merely to ensure the smooth progress of a movement, but also to keep the entire orchestra in its most perfect state. Onstage, it took only five short minutes to determine whether a conductor was skilled or not. The instant the conductor opened the score, the performers would judge from his demeanor, bearing, and grace whether he was qualified to lead them. Without coordination and unity between the conductor and the performers, this performance could never convey music's true meaning to its audience. Now, Silent Orchestra will bring you a grand performance.
Suddenly, just as this Abnormality's name suggested,
the two of them fell silent as well.
"Waghhh!!"
The Orks and Khorne Daemons were brawling together, and the battle only grew fiercer.
Yet one thing never changed: this battle was immensely joyful. Whether they were killed or killed their enemies, both sides found endless delight in it.
Even the angel from before was believed dead by many Orks and Khorne Daemons.
Thus, both sides attacked each other even more frantically.
Across this battlefield stretching for thousands of miles, blood and iron intertwined.
But at that very moment,
bursts of ill-timed music emerged, drowning out the cries of battle.
It overwhelmed every shout, and the battlefield, long consumed by madness, fell silent at that instant.
A puppet dressed in a tailcoat slowly waved the conductor's baton in its hand, tracing graceful arcs through the air.
Chapter 41: Fourth Movement, Voice of the Apocalypse [2nd Update]
Amid this extreme war, the curtain of the performance slowly rose.
All creatures fighting, preparing to fight, or even grievously wounded and dying could not help but turn their eyes toward the center.
Its performance would be utterly spectacular.
As the curtain rose, Silent Orchestra began its slow conducting and performance.
Seeing this, Xiao Huasheng simply lay down on the ground, unwilling to move.
Running into such a big shot right away—how was she supposed to serve it?
[This is awful.]
Even Angela made that assessment.
Knowing full well that they had no way to contain it, the two performed work on it twice and extracted a tiny bit of energy.
When it escaped, Xiao Huasheng directly threw it out.
And so, this astonishing scene came to be.
The first movement.
The orchestra began to play the movement of the apocalypse.
The notes pierced the soul, as though one's whole body had been drenched in blood, like an echo of the spirit.
The curtain opened fully, and Silent Orchestra's conductor slowly raised its skeletal hand. Violins and wind instruments from nowhere began to tremble in unison.
The next instant, the magnificent and beautiful Song of the Apocalypse burst forth!
Beside the conductor, a singer draped in white robes silently appeared.
It had no face, only an ultimate singing throat. As the melody rose, an indescribable high note erupted from deep within that throat, and waves of sound swept across the battlefield as though tangible.
The Orks' war cries stopped abruptly, and the axes of the Khorne Daemons froze in midair.
They all looked toward the choir at the center, staring vacantly at the orchestra's heart.
Some listeners had already begun screaming themselves hoarse before collapsing directly into pools of blood, drowned in boundless joy and terror.
Xiao Huasheng stared at the conductor's raised bone staff. At its tip, energy stirred up by every death was gathering. The souls of those who died would help the orchestra continue its performance.
Just as she had expected.
When the first movement ended, the damage across the entire battlefield had already reached an irreparable level from that alone.
The conductor's bone staff swung down sharply—
The final note exploded, and the second movement simultaneously rang within the minds of every living being on the battlefield.
At this moment, Slaanesh's soft laughter lingered without fading.
The second movement.
Living creatures gradually lost their memories, becoming intoxicated by the orchestra's performance.
The melodious music awakened the deepest madness in their hearts, driving every creature capable of movement to attack all living things before them.
When the melody climbed to its peak, the entire battlefield became a vortex of insanity.
In an instant, the whole battlefield had descended into madness.
The Greenskins and followers of the Blood God began slaughtering indiscriminately. Blades pierced the bodies of their own kind, yet they laughed wildly as they tore the wounds wider.
Blood splashed across the scorched earth, then steamed into a bloody mist with the beat, condensing into twisted musical notes in midair.
Higher still, a pair of languid, hungry eyes opened within the void.
Slaanesh's gaze seeped across the battlefield like cloying honey, allowing diseased pleasure to grow amid the frenzy of slaughter.
The pain of severed limbs became delight, while the wails of the dying were composed into a chorus.
This massacre had become a hymn offered to the God of Pleasure.
The red-haired angel was not so fortunate.
She clutched her head and stared in shock at the Orks and Khorne Daemons slaughtering one another around her. Her eyes beheld bloodshed beyond everything she had seen in her entire life combined.
It seemed that after these Abnormalities escaped from Lobotomy Corporation, they possessed power countless times greater than what they had within Lobotomy Corporation.
Xiao Huasheng could not help but complain.
"This is basically inviting an ancestor to hold a concert." Right now, the red-haired angel only wanted this performance to disappear so that she could quickly find a way back.
This was not the Terra she wanted at all!
The second movement and third movement were performed together.
At this moment, the climax of the Song of the Apocalypse had arrived.
Chapter Four.
