Background / History

Chen Xiaoxia first befriended Yu Muqiu after defending her from bullies. She declared that she would protect Yu Muqiu and later tutored her so they could attend Spring City High School together. This established Xiaoxia’s enduring self-image as Yu Muqiu’s “big sister” and protector. 101

After Yu Muqiu became a magical girl, Xiaoxia accepted Nino’s contract without hesitation so she could continue fighting at her friend’s side. In early battles, she consistently charged first, relying on a will to become stronger after every setback. 101

Yu Muqiu’s Shining Form changed their balance. Xiaoxia was happy for her friend, but privately feared that Yu Muqiu’s growth would leave her unable to protect—or even stand beside—her anymore. 77 101

Her bravado conceals deep insecurity. Much of her pride comes from believing that protecting Yu Muqiu is her duty; when that role seems threatened, she becomes reckless and refuses help even against clearly superior enemies. 100 101

She is also fiercely loyal and emotionally direct.
