Background
Aurora’s parents died in an accident, leaving her in the custody of her uncle, Harvey Campbell. Expelled from public school and living in poverty, she searched N City for odd jobs while Harvey gambled away what little money they had. Despite their constant bickering, Harvey was her remaining family. 169
Harvey gave Aurora a red phone containing Kelly shortly before dying in a fall while fleeing debt collectors. The Crocodile Brotherhood then pursued Aurora as collateral for his debts and for answers about the violence in the alley where she first transformed. 169 178
Cornered by gangsters and a shelled monster, Aurora activated the K app and became a magical girl. She defeated the monster with her newly manifested strength, but fled rather than kill the pursuing gang members. 171 172
Unable to return home, Aurora survived through manual labor, retaliating against would-be robbers, and eventually working as an enforcer for the Skoll Gang. Her first magical-girl missions introduced her to Mutant Magic and the danger of Lesser Demons. 178
After meeting Fang Ming, Aurora asked him to teach her proper fighting techniques. She later accepted his offer to become a registered disciple, determined to surpass him through training rather than relying solely on magical strength. 190 202
Appearance
Aurora is a petite girl with red hair and red eyes. She temporarily dyed her hair blonde after her red hair was photographed, hoping to conceal her identity as Aurora. 153 165 169
- Her Base Form features red armor, metal gauntlets, leg guards, and an eye mask. 171
- Her magical armament is primarily her gauntlets; she fights with punches, kicks, grappling, and close-range martial arts rather than a conventional weapon. 153 175
- Her transformed appearance changes according to the magical nature she borrows, adding color-coded motifs and specialized armor. 179 194 204
- Her Defensive Form covers her in heavy brown exoskeleton-like armor designed for durability rather than appearance. 194
Personality
Aurora is fierce, blunt, stubborn, and intensely competitive. Before learning formal combat, she solved problems through raw force and repeatedly challenged enemies stronger than herself. She enjoys fighting, eagerly studies martial arts, and trains harder whenever being rescued or defeated wounds her pride. 167 180 196
Her early priorities are survival rather than heroism. She initially sees simply avoiding evil as sufficient, yet she refuses to casually kill infected humans because they still retain traces of humanity. As her experience grows, she develops a harsher warrior’s outlook toward enemies created by the Aurora Society. 174 178 208
Aurora fears attachment and abandonment after losing her parents and Harvey. She initially plans to learn everything she can from Fang Ming before leaving him, believing separation will hurt less if she leaves first. Learning that Fang Ming offered help before knowing she was a magical girl eases some of her suspicion. 172 197 216
Despite acting proud and distant, Aurora secretly admires other magical girls and keeps fan merchandise hidden in her room. She becomes notably protective of Xilisi, whom she comes to regard as a younger sister. 165 167 241
Abilities & Skills
Heart of Passion
Aurora’s original magic is Heart of Passion, a strength-focused power inherited through her compatibility with Chihiro’s magical nature.
- Her physical strength increases when facing stronger opponents or more desperate circumstances. 171
- Her emotional investment directly affects her output: greater passion produces greater power. 171
- In her earliest battles, she squandered nearly all her magic power on a few attacks due to poor control. 180
- Fang Ming’s training later allows her to regulate her strength precisely enough to defeat and purify infected humans without excessive injury. 175
Form Switching
Aurora can access the magical natures stored in Kelly’s phone, giving her an unusually broad range of forms and exclusive spells.
- She is not bound to one magical nature and can borrow powers left behind by multiple magical girls. 179
- A single form normally restricts her to that form’s magic; Composite Form is her attempt to overcome this limitation. 223
- Her transformations require the phone and a physical activation sequence, leaving a potential opening during sudden attacks. 183
- Lightning Form is her preferred reconnaissance form against unfamiliar monsters because it lets her evade attacks while identifying weaknesses. 232
Martial Arts
Fang Ming trained Aurora in a wide range of fighting styles, turning her brute-force brawling into disciplined close-quarters combat.
- She learned Central Continent martial arts, jujutsu, kendo, karate, kickboxing, Sanda, and Western swordsmanship in under two months. 172
- Fang Ming taught her to concentrate force into a single point rather than waste power on unfocused strikes. 207 208
- She applies this principle to break through heavily armored opponents, including the Rhino Demon. 208
- Named techniques include Twin-Fist Flurry, Aurora Flying Kick, and Hundred Flowers in Chaos. 171 204 207
Support Magic
Beyond combat forms, Aurora has learned several standard magical-girl techniques through Kelly.
- Search Magic locates magical-power sources and hidden monsters. 179
- Purification Magic removes Mutant Magic from infected humans and puts them into a deep sleep. 175
- Healing Magic repairs physical injuries through Healing Form. 204
- Magic Barrier can be activated in emergencies, though Aurora initially lacked experience using it. 193
