History

Cloudveil True Person assigned Su Yu to instruct Shen Qingzhou after his entry into Sword-Coming Peak’s inner sect. Though initially presented as lazy and relaxed, she became Shen’s first practical guide to the Kan Water Lineage’s cultivation, resource economy, and talisman arts. She recognized the unusual stability of his Qi sea and the depth of questions he asked about the Abyss-Sinking Formula despite his early cultivation 5 6.

Su Yu taught Shen the principles of Kan Water talismans, using the Constellation Concealment Talisman as an example. She then sent him to Peace River City to retrieve an iron box held by the Xu Family—a debt arising from her own past connection to the family. In exchange for completing the task, she agreed to sell his future talismans on a seven-to-three profit split in his favor 7 8.

After Shen returned with the iron box, Su Yu rewarded him with the Kan Water Talisman Compendium, warned him that Yellowstone True Person and the Earth Spirit Sect might seek retaliation, and brought him to Azure Mountain Blackwind Market. There, she negotiated the sale of Shen’s talismans for 210 low-grade spirit stones and deliberately used him as bait to expose hostile rogue cultivators 10 13 14.

Her plan drew out Yellowstone True Person. When he attacked Shen and several other disciples, Su Yu effortlessly broke his Mountain-Shifting Art, dissolved his rock armor with Kan Water techniques, and killed both him and his fleeing accomplices. Su Yu survived the crisis.
