Cheng Jue gripped the Hongmeng Measuring Heaven Ruler and hid within Jade Capital Mountain, observing the battle between those Daluo powerhouses in the void.

"How could I be this unlucky?" Cheng Jue hid below, on the verge of tears. Originally, she had thought she was merely here to make up the numbers. Unfortunately, the other Demon Gods simply ignored Hongjun's request. What she had not expected was that Shen Ni knew to pick the soft persimmon first. The moment he appeared, he chose her, a Taiyi Golden Immortal, as his first target.

Thinking of this, Cheng Jue touched her abdomen. There was an incomparably terrifying wound there. If she had not carried vast amounts of Merit, Shen Ni's blow would have followed the Great Dao's resonance and struck directly at her true body. Though she had blocked it, Shen Ni's attack carried effects unique to Chaos, making her injuries difficult to heal.

If she were still near her true body inside the Grotto-Heaven Pearl, even a Dao injury caused by Chaos would have been easy for her to heal on her own. Now, she could only rely on the lifeforms and players within the Grotto-Heaven Pearl. It was somewhat like the operating mechanism of Cells at Work.
