Vikengam felt that Saint Saturn's reasoning was passable, but he still believed it was only one of the supposed reasons. He had the feeling the old man had other plans in mind, though he had no intention of meddling in them.
You wore underwear that fit your ass. Clearly, as a kid who had just turned eighteen, he did not yet have an ass—or underwear—big enough to handle something like this.
So Vikengam nodded along and said, "I see. Grandfather is truly farsighted. How could those pirates possibly be your match? I'm sure it won't be long before Rocks and the others are brought to justice."
It was a small bit of flattery, but Saint Saturn showed no particular reaction. He merely continued, "I heard you learned quite a lot from him as well?"
There was no way to hide something like that. Never mind whether Saint Saturn had arranged people to secretly watch over him during his training; Professor Clover alone was not tight-lipped enough. A Cipher Pol interrogation would surely dig everything out, especially since Vikengam had never asked him to keep it secret.
From the very beginning, Vikengam had known it could not be concealed.
Thus, he calmly nodded. "Yes. I found it quite interesting, things like the Ancient Language..."
If anyone else had said that, having them dragged out and shot for twenty minutes would not have been excessive. After all, this was something the World Government had expressly forbidden, written directly into the law.
But when it came to Vikengam, it did not matter at all. The law? The highest provisions of the law clearly stated that Celestial Dragons possessed immunity from all laws.
Vikengam was also using this to convey that he was merely interested in things like the Ancient Language. His frankness showed that while he knew it was a crime, he did not care, because he did not understand the terror and secrets hidden behind it.
Saint Saturn naturally knew that Vikengam had been highly interested in all kinds of knowledge since childhood. He was one of the rare Celestial Dragons who loved to learn, so Saint Saturn was not surprised in the slightest that he would do something like this.
Seeing Vikengam being so candid, Saint Saturn felt that the boy simply did not understand what it meant.
It was nothing more than curiosity and a desire to explore at work.
Thus, he did not pursue the matter further. He only said, "Do not study it any longer. The more you know about these things, the less good they will do you. At least, that is the case for now. When you stand higher and can shoulder greater responsibilities, what you should know will naturally no longer be hidden from you."
Vikengam immediately nodded. "Understood, Grandfather. I won't concern myself with this matter anymore, and I won't have any further contact with Professor Clover."
Come to think of it, with the Sharingan, he had already learned how to decipher the Ancient Language. There was indeed no need to keep wading through those murky waters. Obviously, Saint Saturn did not yet know he had mastered that ability, though he would most likely learn about it from Professor Clover later.
But what did that matter? Would he kill Vikengam over it?
That was certainly impossible. Besides, in two days, they would be heading for God Valley, and Saint Saturn would be going with them. As for Professor Clover, the old man clearly intended to deal with that after they returned.
By then, Vikengam would likely already be roaming the seas, so it would not matter anyway.
Seeing how obedient Vikengam was, Saint Saturn did not mention the matter again. He waved a hand and said, "In two days, we will set sail for God Valley in the West Blue. Go back and make your preparations first. While you're at it, think over the new power you've acquired."
"Then I'll take my leave, Grandfather." Vikengam rose to his feet.
Without lingering any longer, he soon left Pangaea Castle.
But the moment he exited the castle, he saw his servants being surrounded by another group of people.
The leader was a woman no shorter than Vikengam. She wore black sunglasses and had a pair of horns on her head. Her voluminous hair flowed loosely, dark purple on the left side and silver-white on the right. She had a slender figure, a cigar clenched between her lips, and held the leash of a fully tamed tiger she kept as a pet.
The tiger was still chewing on a bloody half of a human arm, looking as though it were savoring a delicious meal.
Vikengam recognized her at a glance: Maffy, an official member of God's Knights.
Before Vikengam could do anything, Maffy spotted him. Her previously bored face immediately broke into a teasing smile, and she called out from afar, "My dear Vikengam~ I heard you were coming back today. I've made several rounds here already, and I finally caught you. I've missed you terribly~"
Hearing that call, Vikengam's brows furrowed slightly in displeasure. "Don't call me in such an intimate tone. It makes it sound like we're close, old woman."
As he spoke, Maffy casually tossed the tiger's leash onto the ground and strode quickly toward Vikengam. Laughing heartily, she said, "What a heartless man you are. Have you forgotten our passionate embraces, our wild kisses, and that blissful night we spent going at it until dawn?"
Freed from its leash, the tiger immediately bared its fangs and prepared to attack someone, only for Bartholomew Kuma to seize it by the head with one hand, leaving it utterly unable to move.
Glancing at the tiger, Vikengam casually replied, "Like you said, I'm a heartless man, so I forgot every last bit of it long ago."
Before Maffy could speak again, Vikengam directly asked, "What are you waiting here for?"
"Of course, I remembered what we had. We haven't seen each other for months, and I couldn't help wanting to once again..." Maffy began, speaking those indulgent words without the slightest restraint.
But that was normal for Celestial Dragons. Aside from a very few taboos, they were utterly lawless and never regarded anyone outside their own kind as human. So even with many people around, they never concealed their desires. They said whatever they wanted, without any sense of shame.
"I refuse. The experience you gave me last time was too terrible, so I'm no longer interested in you," Vikengam said.
"The experience was too terrible!?" Maffy jumped in outrage and snapped, "You can say anything else you want, but my skills have been honed through countless trials..."
"Your teeth are too sharp. They made me uncomfortable, and I had to use Haki to protect myself. Too much trouble," Vikengam cut in without mercy.
"??? You brat!" Maffy glared fiercely at him. Then, too lazy to argue further, she put away that unsatisfied look and curled her lips. "Forget it. I can't be bothered arguing with a little brat who doesn't understand romance. It would make me seem lacking in adult grace."
"So you finally understand that you're an old woman to me?" Vikengam added another jab, then asked again before she could respond, "So what exactly is it?"
Seeing her about to come over and throw an arm around his shoulders, Vikengam released wisps of chill. The frosty air swiftly froze the ground beneath his feet, forcing Maffy to stop.
"Hm? When did you become an ability user?" Maffy asked in surprise.
"Just now," Vikengam replied casually, without trying to hide it.
"Hmph!" Maffy snorted unhappily, then said, "Garling asked me to pass along a message. He thinks highly of you and hopes you perform well during this school trip. Once this grand event is over, he will represent God's Knights and invite you to join their ranks..."
It seemed Grandfather Saturn had already hinted something to Garling.
Suppressing that thought, Vikengam nodded calmly. "I understand. Please thank Senior Garling for his kind intentions. I'll do my best."
But just as his words fell, Maffy stepped onto the ice with Haki, forcibly crossed it, wrapped an arm around his shoulders, and pressed her head close with a grin. "There's another piece of good news I can tell you in advance. The rewards for this grand event are quite generous. Shakky, the woman adored by countless people across the seas and known as the most beautiful woman in the world, is among the prizes. Whoever takes first place in this competition gets to take the beauty home~"
Maffy had originally thought that after learning the world's most beautiful woman was one of the rewards, Vikengam, at an age as impulsive as a wild bull, would definitely be extremely interested. Yet she found that he did not seem moved at all?
How could he face his brother acting like that?
Didn't he know to find a way to give his brother something good?
Even Garling was determined to win her. And not just the men—Maffy herself was quite interested in Shakky. If she had the chance, she would certainly find a way to take first place and bring that woman back to her own bedchamber to play with properly.
"I told you not to get too close, old woman..." Vikengam frowned as freezing air suddenly erupted from his body, instantly turning Maffy into a block of ice.
This woman always pushed her luck. If he did not stop her now, she might end up climbing all over him later. Right now, all he wanted was to return and develop his abilities. How could he have the mood to waste time with her?
Without caring what trouble this might cause, Vikengam casually waved a hand, signaling Bartholomew Kuma and the others to follow, then headed straight toward God's Residence.
A moment later, Haki erupted. Maffy broke free from the ice without a scratch, baring a mouthful of sharp teeth as she watched Vikengam's retreating back. A smile tugged at her lips as she said, "Damn it, that little brat is getting colder and colder. It only makes me want him more~"
At the same time, she was curious about what ability Vikengam had gained. Given Saint Saturn's favoritism toward him, it was probably no worse than the "Azure Dragon" the Figarland Family had specially prepared for Garling, was it?
