Background / History

Vikengam is a transmigrator who recovered memories of his previous life at the age of three. Born into the Jaygarcia Family, one of the Five Elders' lineages, he was designated the family's young master and enjoyed the direct favor of his grandfather, Saint Jaygarcia Saturn. His father died when he was nearly two; his mother and his father's wives were buried with him, leaving Vikengam without parents from the point at which he became self-aware. 1 18

Unlike most Celestial Dragons, Vikengam developed a sustained interest in books, history, and forbidden knowledge. His Sharingan made him an unusually fast learner, allowing him to approach Dr. Clover's decades of scholarship after only three years of study. He repeatedly had Clover captured as part of his training while maintaining a cordial, intellectually productive relationship with him. 1

Before God Valley, Vikengam trained Bartholomew Kuma within his palace under the official pretense of preparing a future “combat slave.” Kuma received food, housing, and daily foundational training, while his parents worked simple jobs in the palace. 2

Vikengam refused the path Saint Saturn and the God's Knights intended for him. He understood that joining God's Knights would require a Deep-Sea Contract and bind him to Imu's control, so he chose to leave Mary Geoise, seek power independently, and investigate God Valley and the Void Century. 3

Appearance

Vikengam is a towering man standing approximately 3.12 meters tall, with a lean but heavily defined muscular build. He normally keeps his silver-white hair carefully groomed and favors extravagant noble clothing and jewelry befitting the Jaygarcia Family's wealth. 4 18 29

Vikengam is calculating, self-reliant, and unusually educated for a Celestial Dragon. He approaches dangerous situations pragmatically: before God Valley, he prioritized defense and escape over seeking glory, recognizing that he was not yet strong enough to challenge the era's greatest fighters. He studies Poneglyphs, the Ancient Language, Devil Fruits, and hidden history not merely out of curiosity, but because knowledge can become political leverage. 6 8 113

He is also deeply attached to the privilege of his birth. Vikengam openly condemns the cruelty of Celestial Dragons while admitting that he enjoys their wealth, authority, and immunity from law. Rather than reject the ruling class, he intends to rise within the “class of power” and ultimately pursue the position of King of the World. 116 188

His treatment of others changes sharply according to circumstance. He can be loyal to his shipmates, mentor younger relatives, and show consideration for allies, yet remains capable of extreme brutality and class contempt. Upon taking control of Wano, he ordered executions for nobles who did not kneel quickly enough and chose repression, imported populations, and military force to suppress resistance. 105 189 190
