Seven-year-old Peter Parker was still tiny.
May opened the door in a long dress, and Li Wei didn't see Peter at first.
Only when he looked down did he notice the little boy standing in the doorway.
"Peter, what are you doing here?"
A smile immediately spread across May's face when she saw him. She really did look better when she smiled.
Peter Parker, however, wasn't looking at her. He was staring at Li Wei beside her. "May, you finally brought a boyfriend home!?"
"I've been waiting forever for someone to keep you in line!"
"..."
May's expression changed at once. She glanced at Li Wei in embarrassment.
Peter Parker kept chattering away. "Sir, Aunt May might be a little strange, but she's very charming..."
"Peter!"
May promptly gave him a thump, then held out a pizza box. "Look what I brought you."
"Wow! Pizza!"
The pizza caught Peter Parker's attention, and he ran inside with it.
"Please, come in."
Only then did May turn to Li Wei, still embarrassed. "He's just a little mischievous."
"He's cute."
Li Wei could only go along with it.
That was Peter Parker for you. He'd been a chatterbox since childhood.
May stepped inside and invited Li Wei in from the doorway, closing the door only after he entered.
"Just a moment."
She saw the mess in the room and hurried to tidy up, then took some clothes into the bedroom.
When she came out, she had changed into lighter clothes for lounging at home.
She wore an orange tank top and tight jeans.
Li Wei's gaze went straight to her. Her figure was that good?
It was only after seeing Eve wear them that Li Wei had realized how flattering jeans could be.
Eve liked tight ones too, and she even "modified" them herself.
"Peter, go wash your hands."
May promptly tapped Peter Parker on the head.
"May, if you keep hitting me, I'll get stupid."
Peter Parker clutched his head as he spoke.
Though he was already silly enough...
May then hurried to seat Li Wei and fetch them something to drink.
She was busy, but everything she did was orderly. She was a model homemaker.
"We don't have any alcohol. None of us drink."
"I don't like drinking either."
Li Wei smiled at once.
He only ever drank a little red wine, afraid too much would leave him feeling awful.
So May poured them apple juice.
After washing his hands, Peter Parker ate his pizza while his eyes darted between the two of them.
"Sir..." he began.
"Just call me Li Wei."
Li Wei smiled.
"Li Wei... I know who you are!"
Peter Parker thought for a moment, then lit up. "You're the guy who's always trading insults with Tony Stark!"
"..."
Had my reputation spread that far? Li Wei wondered.
He could only nod awkwardly.
"No wonder you managed to win Aunt May over. She likes them young and handsome."
Peter Parker rattled it off like a machine gun.
"Peter!"
May called out at once. What kind of woman was he making her sound like?
"Li Wei and I are just friends."
"Friends can become something more..."
Peter didn't get to finish before May thumped him again.
"Hurry up, finish eating, and do your homework."
She looked at Li Wei apologetically. "Don't take it to heart."
"I think Peter's fun."
Li Wei didn't mind.
Besides, with Peter Parker playing matchmaker so insistently, he and May had grown closer.
He didn't stay long, though. After eating, he prepared to leave.
The moment Peter saw him getting ready to go, he said, "Uncle Li, come visit again when you have time. May will be happy."
"Peter!"
May blushed.
"Come on, tell me you wouldn't be happy."
Peter Parker pressed her for an answer.
That left May too embarrassed to respond.
Luckily, Li Wei simply said goodbye.
After Li Wei went downstairs, Peter Parker was still talking to May. "May, Uncle Li is a great choice. Why don't you just say yes to him?"
"Peter! What would a child like you know?"
"If you don't like him, why are you blushing?"
Peter stood his ground.
Predictably, May gave him a beating.
After leaving Queens, Li Wei reclined across the back seat with his head on Eve's lap.
Eve massaged the spot between his brows while Li Wei focused on his phone.
The news was now almost entirely about the search for Tony Stark, and Li Wei couldn't help envying the attention.
Maybe I should've gotten myself kidnapped...
But that would be dangerous.
So Li Wei figured it was best to ride the wave of attention.
Besides, he wasn't attaching himself to the story out of nowhere. He and Tony Stark had a whole love-hate rivalry!
He tagged the military directly, offering to provide new technology free of charge to help search for Tony Stark.
Whether the military accepted or refused, Li Wei would gain Reputation Points!
Sure enough, by the time Li Wei got home, the military had already turned him down.
Future Technology Company wasn't a military contractor. Why would they use its products?
If they did and found Tony Stark, they would be giving Future Technology Company free advertising.
And if they failed to find him, Future Technology Company still wouldn't lose anything.
Either way, the company came out ahead.
Li Wei wasn't in a hurry. The longer this dragged on, the worse things would get for the military.
Sooner or later, they would be begging him to help.
He took a shower, then spent some time training his Telepathy.
Superpowers grew stronger with training. Even Superman hadn't known he could fly at first.
Of course, Li Wei didn't mean the Superman who kept getting beaten to a pulp.
Did James Gunn have what it took to make a Superman movie?
Not a chance!
He would just bring his trashy ideas into Superman and ruin the whole thing.
Put plainly, the new Superman was James Gunn's X-rated fantasy. There was Superman's bizarre pose while rescuing a little girl, and then there was Superman's father, Jor-El, telling him to go to Earth and build a "harem."
If that was what they called "sunshine," then even Homelander would pass for normal.
After training his Telepathy for a while, Li Wei felt mentally exhausted.
So he returned to his room and began a ten-pull in the new version.
It used to cost only one million. Now it cost ten million.
Fortunately, Tony Stark was keeping the public's attention alive with his own disappearance. Otherwise, Li Wei couldn't have afforded the pulls.
Who said Tony wasn't a good person?
It brought tears to his eyes!
