[Nanofiber Shield: Rick Sanchez's top-tier protective shield. Once activated, it forms a close-fitting membrane that can withstand bullets, lasers, and other attacks while repelling nearby enemies without affecting mobility.]
It arrived!
After gaining telepathy, Li Wei had been most concerned about his physical strength.
For a proper Chinese man, naturally, both the mind and body needed to be strong.
Focusing solely on either one was a lopsided path.
At least now, he could protect his body.
This was the famous high-tech creation of Rick Sanchez.
It was extremely compact and could be hidden in a tooth or around the neck.
Li Wei naturally chose to wear it around his neck.
With this thing, he could finally rest easy.
There was plenty of bizarre high-tech in the world of Rick and Morty. Most of it was admittedly pretty twisted, but there were still many things Li Wei wanted.
Then, with a flip of his hand, a black hilt appeared in Li Wei's palm.
"Buzz!"
As he activated it, a stream of plasma energy shot forth and formed a blade.
Unlike other Lightsabers, the Darksaber was black, with white light occasionally flickering across it.
Its blade was flat and curved, with a sharp point at the tip.
"Cool!"
Even Li Wei could not help marveling at it.
Ordinary Lightsabers looked merely passable to him, with nothing special beyond their flashy colors.
But the Darksaber was different. It had an actual blade body and was completely unlike other Lightsabers.
And its black-and-white color scheme made it seem even more solemn.
It also possessed something other Lightsabers did not.
It chose its master.
Only someone acknowledged by the Darksaber could wield it freely.
Otherwise, it would grow increasingly "heavy," making it impossible for its wielder to use it for long.
That was why the Mandalorians regarded the Darksaber as proof of leadership. Whoever obtained it could lead all Mandalorians.
Sure enough, when Li Wei cautiously swung it once, he felt the Darksaber growing heavier.
That meant it had not acknowledged him.
This so-called "acknowledgment" was far too mystical.
Li Wei scanned it with telepathy, yet found nothing wrong.
He had initially thought it might have some kind of "weapon spirit."
But now, it seemed to be just a Lightsaber, albeit a special one.
"I wonder how I'm supposed to earn its acknowledgment."
Li Wei deactivated the Darksaber and put it away.
He then examined the other items. There was no need to say much about the Super Battery. It was an upgraded Fusion Battery that could supply energy to an entire city.
It could rival the new energy source Tony Stark would later invent himself.
Besides that, the most important item was CPH4.
It was the pill from the movie Lucy. To ordinary people, it was no different from any other drug.
But for a "protagonist," it could evolve the brain.
And after being modified by the system, it had become somewhat different.
Holding it in his hand, Li Wei hesitated slightly.
It was not that he feared developing his brain. He was mainly afraid of becoming a "god."
What would be the point if he lost his humanity?
If it were someone else, like Superman, Li Wei would absolutely want him to possess divinity.
Because humanity was extremely unreliable. Good people could easily become bad, and if Superman possessed too much so-called humanity, he would become unreliable as well.
But divinity was different. He would not change so easily.
So Li Wei asked the system.
"Using CPH4 won't make me completely lose my humanity, right?"
[As long as brain development does not reach one hundred percent, it will not.]
The system quickly replied.
[Reaching one hundred percent brain development requires continuous use of CPH4. One or two pills will not be enough.]
Seeing the system's reply, Li Wei breathed a sigh of relief.
That made sense.
In the movie, the female lead had swallowed an entire bag, which burst open in her stomach. That was why her evolution happened so quickly.
Li Wei only had three pills in total. Was he taking health supplements or something?
So he immediately swallowed one to test it out.
Since it was produced by the system, there would be no risk of addiction.
After swallowing one, Li Wei did not feel much.
He then swallowed the remaining two, and only then did he feel something.
His telepathy seemed to have grown much stronger.
That was normal. Developing the brain naturally enhanced the mind and spirit.
Li Wei's telekinesis, in particular, strengthened along with it.
Brain development was incredibly miraculous. Not only could it grant all kinds of superpowers, but it could even allow one to travel through time. Its only drawback was that it could make one lose their humanity and become a "god."
It was like the saints in Investiture of the Gods turning into the Heavenly Dao.
Li Wei excitedly played around with his newfound power and felt that he had not lost out at all.
After the lottery system upgraded, the odds of drawing good items had increased considerably. Even his terrible luck was no longer so obvious.
When it was time to sleep, he called Eve in.
Even though there were no enemies left, he was still scared and needed Eve to protect him at close range!
The US Military had been under enormous pressure these past few days.
Not only had they boasted to reporters that they would find Tony Stark within three days.
Li Wei had also been constantly pressuring them on social media.
He had no choice. For Reputation Points, Li Wei had to act this "obnoxiously."
The US Military was somewhat helpless when it came to him.
Yet several days passed, and they had not only failed to find Tony Stark, they had not even found a single hair of his.
That place was known as the graveyard of empires. Even the US Military could not gain any advantage there, let alone search for someone.
It was all desert and deep mountains. How were they supposed to find him?
That was precisely why Tony Stark had seen a business opportunity and taken the chance to promote his new product.
Who would have expected a traitor to emerge within Stark Industries?
At this moment, Tony Stark was filled with regret. He still did not know where things had gone wrong and could only keep hammering away at metal.
It was not as though he had never considered Li Wei, but he also felt that Li Wei would not be that underhanded.
There was no need for it.
Although the two had constantly traded insults, gentlemen used their mouths, not their fists. There had definitely been no other conflict between them.
At most, Tony Stark thought Li Wei was kind of an asshole. He would never think about killing him.
Conversely, he believed Li Wei felt the same way.
Over the past few days, aside from riding the wave of publicity, Li Wei had been pushing changes within the company.
First, he reached a partnership agreement with a factory across the ocean. They would manufacture drone components, then ship them to Future Technology Company for assembly.
That way, they could be labeled "Made in America."
Before long, they had Griffin Drones and began testing them.
This was technology from 2077, decades ahead of the current era. In every respect, it was better than what the US Military used.
That was right. Although drones were not yet well-developed in this era, the US Military had long since begun using them.
But those who knew, knew. In a place where a bag of screws cost ninety thousand dollars, could drones possibly be cheap?
If you made them cheap, the generals at the Pentagon would not be happy.
If you do not take it and I do not take it, how is Commissioner Smith supposed to take his share?
So the US Military's drones were now expensive and terrible, completely incomparable to Future Technology's Griffin Drones.
Li Wei was confident he could crush them.
