Background / History

Eve was created by Mother Sphere as a member of the Seventh Airborne Squad. Her stored memories place her on a mission to land on Earth and eliminate the Naytiba, monsters created from old humans resisting Mother Sphere's New Humans. Unlike fully mechanical units such as 2B, Eve possesses a body combining flesh and machinery and considers herself a true human. 27 28

Li Wei purchased Eve's blueprint and created her using the System. When she learned that his world had no Naytiba, she briefly lost the purpose for which she had been made. Li Wei gave her a new purpose—protecting him—which she accepted immediately. 27

Upon arriving at Li Wei's villa, Eve met 2B. Their first disagreement centered on Eve's identity: 2B regarded her as an android due to her artificial body, while Eve insisted that the artificial bodies used in her world did not make her less human. 28

Eve adapted rapidly to peaceful modern life. She developed an enthusiasm for food, jewelry, fashion, shopping, and virtual reality, experiences unavailable in the wasteland she remembered. 28 31 72
