A swift horse galloped along the rugged road.
Merlin had left Sacred Dragon City half a month ago and had traveled almost every day since. Now, at last, he could see Xita City not far ahead.
"There's Xita City. I wonder if Osato is inside?"
Merlin murmured to himself. His target this time was, of course, Osato.
Merlin reached a hillside where he could look down over all of Xita City. It was only a small city, not some bustling metropolis, but for now, the Giant Python Legion was only strong enough to occupy small cities like this.
"Hmm? Someone's there?"
Merlin narrowed his eyes. Outside Xita City, he spotted several young men and women who seemed to be watching the city and discussing something. Their behavior was suspicious.
"It seems I'm not the Giant Python Army's only enemy!"
A cold smile slowly crept across Merlin's lips. He released his horse, then hurried down the hill toward Xita City alone.
In a small grove outside Xita City, three young men and women had gathered together. They glanced toward the city from time to time, anxiety showing on their faces.

One of the men seemed hesitant. These three actually intended to enter Xita City to rescue someone.
"Otara, if you don't want to come, you can leave now. But no matter what, I'm going to get my sister out!"
The woman named Mary spoke with absolute resolve. She would not leave Xita City without rescuing her sister.
