Upon entering the basement, Merlin glanced around and discovered many large chests that had not been there before. They were filled with gold coins, the financial foundation that sustained the entire Black Bat Army.

The other chests contained strange curiosities that Black Bat had collected from who knew where. Merlin examined them for a while but found nothing important.

"Was this all Black Bat collected?"

Merlin felt certain that a powerful fighter who had achieved Full Beastification, like Black Bat, would never care about these things. Even the destruction of the Black Bat Army would not really matter. As long as he remained alive, he could rebuild it sooner or later.

Thus, Black Bat must have valued his own life above all else. He had to possess many treasures intended to increase his strength. After all, once someone with a low-rank giant beast bloodline reached Full Beastification, there was scarcely any room left for improvement.

Yet none of those things were anywhere
