Merlin blasted the bald brute away, then left the Mission Hall without looking back.
"Heh, now you know how strong he is, don't you? You actually dared to provoke him? He's the ruthless bastard who just killed Black Bat. Who would have thought the Logistics Division had someone like that?"
A mocking laugh rang out from the crowd, revealing Merlin's true identity.
"He killed Black Bat? No wonder he's so terrifying. I deserved to lose!"
The bald brute accepted his defeat readily enough. Losing to someone powerful enough to kill a Full Beastification expert was nothing to feel ashamed of. It was only natural.
Still, the terrifying strength Merlin had displayed suggested that he possessed a high-rank giant beast bloodline.
Merlin paid no attention to any of this and headed straight to the Logistics Division. After all, he was still nominally one of its members.
As soon as he returned, Boyue rose with a smile and said, "Well, look who's back-our great hero! Leo, I never imagined you'd been hiding so much strength. You killed both Osato and Black Bat! Tsk, tsk. Someone as strong as you, still staying in our Logistics Division? The director has already ordered you to go straight to the Combat Division. You're being made a deputy division head!"

Merlin had been in Phantom for quite some time. Though he knew that a highly mysterious director oversaw the entire organization, that director never showed himself, and Merlin had never met him.
Phantom's director was one of the leading powers in Sacred Dragon City, a formidable figure on whom even the Royal Family relied heavily. Anyone who had not reached Full Beastification was not even qualified to speak with him.
Now that Merlin had killed Black Bat, he had demonstrated his strength and
