What Merlin desperately needed was a Meditation Art that could greatly increase his Mental Power. To become a more powerful Spellcaster, the most important things were Mental Power and Spell Models.
If one only had powerful Mental Power but could not construct Spell Models, it would be of no use. Just like Lorinka—her Mental Power was sufficient, but because she could not construct Spell Models, she could not advance to become a First-level Spellcaster.
If one's Mental Power was insufficient, one likewise could not become a powerful Spellcaster. With Matrix's help, Merlin did not need to worry at all about constructing Spell Models. However, the growth of his Mental Power had always failed to keep pace, and this had hindered the increase in Merlin's strength.
The Meditation Art in Old Aita's spell notes was only a low-level Meditation Art, and its effects were far too poor. Merlin had long wanted to obtain some other Meditation Arts, but he had never had the chance.

However, the Contribution Points required for advanced Meditation Techniques were simply terrifying—nearly a thousand Contribution Points. That was practically an astronomical figure. Moreover, throughout the entire second floor of the tower, there were fewer than ten sets of advanced Meditation Techniques.
