"Instructor Leo's eyes?"
Lorinka stopped in her tracks and said hesitantly, "Instructor's eyes were already like that when I came to the Dark Spirit Domain. But I once heard that they became that way because he cultivated dark-element Spells. It seemed that Instructor had conducted an experiment on himself, personally destroying both his eyes before using dark Spells together with some peculiar potions to condense a Dark Eye on his forehead. I heard that Dark Eye possesses some very unusual powers... As for the specifics, I don't know much either."
"He destroyed both his eyes to cultivate dark-element Spells?"
Merlin's expression turned somewhat strange. Thinking of Mage Leo's hollow, deathly gray eyes made a chill run down his spine. Before he knew it, Lorinka had brought Merlin to the third floor. She pointed at several rooms, indicating that they would be Merlin's residence from then on.
Merlin gave them a rough look. They were quite nice—large and spacious, more than enough for him alone.
"Thank you very much, Mage Lorinka, for getting me settled. I'm afraid I've taken up quite a bit of your time as well?"
Merlin gave Lorinka a slight bow in thanks. He knew that Spellcasters' time was precious, and Lorinka had spent most of the day arranging things for him.
