Ch. 853Legacy Blood!

Merlin and Santo agreed to enter the Giant Clan's dangerous Ancestral Land and retrieve a drop of legacy blood in exchange for Kronos committing the Giant Clan to aid the Spellcaster Civilization. With Flameglow and his companions joining them, they crossed into the ruined plane and found its death-filled aura and mysterious power formidable even to Supreme Existences.

  • Kronos explained that he had once obtained legacy blood in the Ancestral Land and asked Merlin and Santo to retrieve the remaining drop, promising the Giant Clan's alliance.
  • Merlin and Santo agreed to enter with the Sloth Beast, believing it could protect them from the force that had thwarted Kronos.
  • Flameglow and his two companions insisted on joining after Flameglow said the plane's aura felt familiar to him.
  • Merlin guided the Sloth Beast into the Ancestral Land while Kronos watched and hoped they would succeed.
  • Inside, Merlin and the others saw a devastated landscape and sensed a powerful death aura and a mysterious force that made the enormous plane difficult to threaten.

Ch. 854Battlefield

Merlin and his companions searched the Giant Clan's Ancestral Land, where corrosive mist, deathly cries, and a damaged puppet threatened them. After the Sloth Beast destroyed the puppet, Flameglow recognized the area as a battlefield from the ancient war against the Remnant Clan, and the group continued with greater caution.

  • Merlin guided the Sloth Beast through red mist that corroded their Laws and deathly cries that unsettled Yan Hao and Yan Meng, whom Merlin protected with his Mental Power.
  • Santo warned Merlin when a damaged puppet raised a ball of red light, and Merlin used the Sloth Beast to smash it before it could attack.
  • Flameglow recognized the puppet's aura as belonging to the Remnant Clan and identified the Ancestral Land as a likely battlefield from its ancient war against the Giant Clan.
  • Flameglow explained that the Remnant Clan used puppets among many methods and could transform themselves into powerful beings, while Merlin and the others grew more cautious about the dangers ahead.

Ch. 855Black Star Armor!

Merlin and his companions reached the Titan Giants’ palace, where they discovered a Blackstar Armor from the Remnant Clan beside a Titan Giant’s severed arm. Flameglow explained the armor’s tremendous power and warned them to approach it cautiously, leaving Merlin eager to claim it.

  • Merlin guided the Sloth Beast through the devastated battlefield toward the palace believed to contain the Titan Giants’ Legacy Blood.
  • Merlin put the Sloth Beast to sleep outside the palace, and Santo opened the gates while the others prepared for danger.
  • Merlin spotted dusty black armor and a huge skeletal arm inside the ruined hall.
  • Flameglow identified the armor as Blackstar Armor worn by genuine Remnant Clan members and said its wearer had fought a Titan Giant and died.
  • Flameglow described the Remnant Clan’s three armor tiers and warned Merlin and Santo that the Blackstar Armor might still be dangerous.

Ch. 856Tremor!

Merlin and the others discovered that no one could move the Blackstar Armor, which only members of the Remnant Clan could wear. They found one drop of Legacy Blood for Kronos and hurried to leave, but Merlin sensed the armor trembling as they passed.

  • Mage Santo tried to lift the Blackstar Armor, but it did not move even when he used the Darkness Law.
  • Merlin also failed to move the armor, and Flameglow explained that only members of the Remnant Clan could wear it.
  • Merlin gave up on the Blackstar Armor and led the group to search for the Legacy Blood needed by Kronos.
  • Santo opened several boxes and found a single drop of crimson Legacy Blood in the last one.
  • Santo put away the Legacy Blood, and the group hurried toward the palace exit.
  • Merlin felt the Blackstar Armor tremble faintly as they passed it.

Ch. 857Life Brain

Merlin learned from the Blackstar Armor’s recorded data that it belonged to a Remnant Clan warrior and required a Life Brain for a person to earn its acknowledgment. He realized Matrix might still be able to control the armor through its program, and began an attempt to take it away.

  • Merlin used Matrix to read data from the trembling Blackstar Armor and learned about the Remnant Clan’s Life Brains and history.
  • Merlin discovered that the armor’s owner had been a Black Star Warrior killed by the Titan Civilization in the Ancestral Land.
  • Merlin learned that only Remnant Clan warriors with Life Brains could gain the armor’s acknowledgment, leaving him unable to use it normally.
  • Merlin recalled that the armor might still contain a temporary control program because its former owner had not fused with it.
  • Merlin ordered Matrix to invade the armor’s program and waited to see whether it could control the Blackstar Armor.

Ch. 858Controlling the Armor [Bonus Chapter for the Alliance Leader]

Merlin gained initial control of the Blackstar Armor and escaped the collapsing palace with Santo and the others. After Flameglow destroyed four Remnant Clan Puppets, the group left the Giant Clan’s Ancestral Land, where Merlin took the armor out for the others to inspect.

  • Matrix detected the armor’s encrypted control program, and Merlin ordered it to take control.
  • Merlin lifted the Blackstar Armor, stored it in his spatial ring, and fled the palace with Santo and the others as it collapsed.
  • Four Remnant Clan Puppets emerged from the ruins and prepared to attack the group.
  • Flameglow summoned his Flame God-Devil and destroyed all four damaged puppets.
  • Merlin drove the Sloth Beast out of the Plane, and Santo asked about the armor.
  • Merlin took the Blackstar Armor out of his ring as Santo, Flameglow, and the others watched.

Ch. 859Leaving the Ancestral Land

Merlin tried to wear the Blackstar Armor but failed because it required recognition from a Remnant Clan Life Brain, which the Matrix could not imitate without precise information. After learning how the Remnant Clan’s rule-defying weapons had killed Supreme Existences, Merlin left the death-shrouded Ancestral Land.

  • Merlin used the Matrix to merge the Blackstar Armor with his body, but it rejected him and returned to its original form.
  • Flameglow explained that only Remnant Clan members with Life Brains could gain recognition from Blackstar Armor.
  • The Matrix told Merlin it could not imitate a Life Brain without precise information, and Merlin explained the requirement to Santo and the others.
  • Flameglow explained that the Remnant Clan’s rule-defying weapons could dismantle Rule Power and kill Supreme Existences.
  • Merlin put away the Blackstar Armor and left the Ancestral Land on the Sloth Beast.

Ch. 860The inheritance ceremony

Merlin and Santo returned from the Ancestral Land with the Giant Clan’s legacy blood, and Kronos brought them to the Titan Plane to witness its inheritance ceremony. Giant King Monray began absorbing the blood and attempting to merge with the natural order, leaving the Giant Clan’s hopes for a second Titan Giant resting on his success.

  • Kronos welcomed Merlin, Santo, Flameglow, and the others back from the Ancestral Land after Santo presented the legacy blood they had recovered.
  • Kronos invited Merlin and the others to witness the inheritance ceremony, and they followed him to the Titan Plane.
  • Kronos gathered the Giant Kings and announced that Monray would receive the legacy blood as the clan’s strongest Giant King after himself.
  • Monray recited the Ancestors’ Oath, and Kronos placed the legacy blood on his forehead for him to absorb.
  • Monray’s body grew as rule power gathered into a vortex above him, and he declared his resolve to fight as he began merging with the natural order.

Ch. 861A Daring Plan!

Monray merged with the rules through his battle intent and became the Giant Clan’s second Titan Giant. Kronos then proposed an alliance of seven Supreme Existences to destroy the Rock Clan and potentially weaken the Light Pantheon, leaving Merlin and Santo agreeing to help recruit Kronos’s powerful friend.

  • Monray merged with the rules through his will to fight, grew to the size of Kronos, and became a Titan Giant.
  • Ditas urged Merlin not to merge with the rules, since it would bind him and obstruct his goal of reversing them.
  • Kronos introduced Merlin, Santo, and Flameglow to Monray, who promised to help them in return for obtaining the Legacy Blood.
  • Kronos told Santo that he planned to unite seven Supreme Existences to confront the Rock Clan and Light Pantheon.
  • Kronos said he had already invited the Wing Clan and Tree Clan and proposed that Merlin and Santo join him in recruiting his Supreme Existence friend.

Ch. 863Gravity Magnetic Field

Kronos led Merlin and the others through the Void Realm to meet his old friend Rom, whose home lay among nine immense Planes near the Dark Region. On entering, they encountered powerful Gravity Magnetic Fields resembling the Remnant Clan’s methods, leaving them suspicious of Rom’s connection to the clan.

  • Kronos led Merlin and the others toward his old friend, guiding them along the edge of the Dark Region.
  • The group found nine artificially created Planes, and Santo recognized that each rivaled a City of Arcane.
  • As they entered the Planes, crushing Gravity Magnetic Fields pressed down on them, and Kronos warned them to stay close.
  • Flameglow identified the fields as a Remnant Clan method and explained that full-strength fields could crush even him.
  • Merlin and the others questioned whether Rom was connected to the Remnant Clan but continued following Kronos to meet him.

Ch. 864Rom

Merlin and Kronos entered Rom’s Plane, where they met the solitary Supreme Existence and learned of his obsessive research into the Remnant Clan. Rom explained that he had activated a Gravity Magnetic Field left behind by the Remnant Clan, while admitting he understood only a tiny fraction of their legacy.

  • Kronos introduced Merlin and the others to Rom, who opened the central Plane’s barrier but required the Sloth Beast to remain outside.
  • Merlin entered the Plane with Kronos and saw five Remnant Clan puppets among ruined fortresses, damaged warships, and scattered debris.
  • A damaged warship fired at the group, and Kronos blocked the beams with a barrier before Rom emerged and apologized for the weapons malfunction.
  • Rom revealed his rule power and explained that he had been born immensely powerful, become a Supreme Existence, and spent ages collecting Remnant Clan artifacts.
  • Rom told Merlin and the others that he had moved an abandoned Plane containing a Remnant Clan Gravity Magnetic Field and expanded it to cover all nine of his Planes.

Ch. 865Golden Radiance Armor Fragments

Merlin and his companions toured Rom’s collection of Remnant Clan artifacts aboard the restored Dream Battleship and discovered damaged fragments of Golden Radiance Armor. Matrix found no Life Brain aboard, leaving Merlin without a way to control the Remnant Clan’s armor.

  • Rom led Merlin and his companions into the Dream Battleship and showed them its restored lights and empty interior.
  • Flameglow recognized two powerless black-metal puppets like those that had attacked the group in the Giant Clan’s Ancestral Land.
  • Flameglow identified the golden breastplate fragments as Golden Radiance Armor, which could make a Remnant Clan warrior rival the Thirty-Six Emperors.
  • Merlin searched the warship for Blackstar Armor and Graylight Armor but found neither.
  • Merlin ordered Matrix to scan for a Life Brain, and Matrix reported that none was aboard.
  • Rom asked the group what they thought of his collection, which included artifacts that might help turn the war against the Rock Clan, the Light Pantheon, and the Atlan Civilization.

Ch. 866Prelude

Merlin persuaded Rom to help the Spellcaster Civilization by promising Remnant Clan relics hidden in the Giant Clan's Ancestral Land, and Rom moved his Gravity Magnetic Field equipment for the coming battle against the Atlan Civilization. The chapter left the group heading to the Ancestral Land as the Atlan Civilization continued destroying Planes to gather resources for a Void-Class Warship.

  • Rom refused Kronos's request to aid the Spellcaster Civilization unless he received something from the Remnant Clan.
  • Merlin claimed the Giant Clan's Ancestral Land held Remnant Clan relics and puppets, and suggested the Atlan Civilization might descend from the Remnant Clan.
  • Kronos agreed to take Rom to the Ancestral Land, and Rom promised to help the Spellcaster Civilization if the relics were real.
  • Rom dismantled and removed the Gravity Magnetic Field equipment so it could be brought to the battlefield against the Atlan Civilization.
  • Rom joined Merlin, Santo, and Kronos as they set out for the Ancestral Land.
  • The Atlan Civilization destroyed another Plane while its leaders pursued resources to build a Void-Class Warship.

Ch. 867Void-Class Warship!

Rom entered the Giant Clan’s Ancestral Land to inspect the Remnant Clan’s relics and agreed to go to the Spellcaster Civilization, but Santo suddenly exploded into starlight. Meanwhile, the Atlan Civilization completed a Void-Class Warship capable of disintegrating rules and prepared to use it against the Supreme Arcane Mages.

  • Rom inspected the Giant Clan’s death-shrouded Ancestral Land and was impressed by the Remnant Clan’s battlefield relics.
  • Rom agreed to join Merlin, Santo, and the others in traveling to the Spellcaster Civilization.
  • Santo suddenly vanished after his body exploded into specks of starlight, shocking Merlin, Rom, and the others.
  • The Atlan Civilization celebrated developing Rule Disintegration Power after draining twenty-eight Planes to power a single Void-Class Warship shot.
  • The gray-armored Atlan leader ordered the Rock Clan’s two progenitors and the Light God Lord to lure out the three Supreme Arcane Mages so the warship could kill one of them.

Ch. 868A drastic turn

After the Atlan Civilization’s weapon killed Santo, Merlin hurried back to the Spellcaster Civilization with Rom and the Sloth Beast. Augustus stayed behind to face the attackers while ordering Sethis to escape with Secci City of Arcane and preserve the Spellcaster Civilization’s legacy.

  • Rom identified Santo’s vanished incarnation as proof that Santo’s true body had died, and agreed to accompany Merlin back to the Spellcaster Civilization.
  • Merlin, Rom, Flameglow, and the others rode the Sloth Beast toward the Spellcaster Civilization at full speed while Merlin wondered whether the Divine Alliance or an Atlan Void-Class Warship had caused the crisis.
  • The Rock Clan’s two progenitors and the Light God Lord realized the Atlan Civilization’s beam had killed Santo by disintegrating rules, and Santo City of Arcane began to collapse.
  • Augustus told Sethis to flee with Secci City of Arcane to the Giant Clan and reunite with Merlin, then prepared to hold off the Light God Lord and the Rock Clan’s progenitors alone.
  • The Light God Lord and the Rock Clan’s two progenitors attacked Augustus as Sethis recognized that escaping with the Spellcaster Civilization’s legacy was all he could do.

Ch. 869Urgency

After learning that Santo had been killed by the Atlan Civilization’s Void-Class Warship, Merlin urged Sethis to help Augustus hold back the enemy while his true body headed for the front. Aboard the Sloth Beast, Merlin decided to attempt merging with an illusory world to gain enough strength to defend the Spellcaster Civilization.

  • Merlin’s Law Incarnation learned that Santo City of Arcane had collapsed and discovered that Santo had died in an Atlan Civilization sneak attack.
  • Sethis said Augustus was holding off the Rock Clan’s two progenitors and the Light God Lord, then prepared to retreat with the City of Arcane.
  • Merlin told Sethis to stay and help Augustus because his true body would arrive soon, hinting that they had sought the Giant Clan’s Titan Giant.
  • Merlin kept Santo’s death and the Void-Class Warship’s threat from Rom, Flameglow, and the others as they traveled toward the Spellcaster Civilization.
  • Merlin asked Ditas to teach him how to merge with an illusory world, and Ditas explained how one could be formed and perfected.

Ch. 870A crisis of annihilation!

Merlin attempted to merge Ditas’s illusory world into his Mental Core but could contain only a fraction of it, forcing him to wait and grow stronger. As Merlin approached the Spellcaster Civilization, the Light God Lord and the Atlan Civilization launched an assault that devastated the defenders and drove them toward the City of Arcane.

  • Merlin pulled Ditas’s illusory world into his Mental Core, but it nearly overwhelmed him after he absorbed only one percent, so he returned it to the Illusion Pearl.
  • Merlin saw the Spellcaster Civilization’s Planes ahead and warned Lord Rom to prepare for battle.
  • The Light God Lord and the Rock Clan progenitors attacked the Spellcaster Civilization while the Atlan Civilization sent swarms of puppets into its Planes.
  • The Light God Lord’s holy light killed two Monarchs, including the Blackfire Monarch, and destroyed Spellcasters and Planes as Augustus and Sethis remained trapped by the Rock Clan progenitors.
  • Fwell ordered the remaining Monarchs and Spellcasters to enter the City of Arcane, but the Light God Lord turned his attention toward destroying it.

Ch. 871The Fat Cat's Fury!

Didimos awakened in the City of Arcane and saved the Spellcaster Civilization by swallowing the Light God Lord’s holy light and the attacking puppets. After the Light God Lord recognized Didimos as a creature that had reversed the rules and tried to capture it, Didimos held off his attack, leaving the two facing each other in the Void Realm.

  • The Light God Lord battered the City of Arcane’s defenses while twenty-six Great Monarchs despaired over the Spellcaster Civilization’s danger.
  • Didimos awakened, swallowed the Light God Lord’s holy-light blasts, and devoured the puppets attacking the Spellcaster Civilization’s planes.
  • Augustus and Sethis recognized Didimos, while Merlin arrived as a Law Incarnation and told it that Santo was dead and asked it to buy time.
  • The Light God Lord identified Didimos as a creature that had reversed the rules and attacked it to capture and study it.
  • Didimos devoured thousands of puppets and converted them into energy, then used that power to withstand the Light God Lord’s holy-light attack.
  • The Light God Lord ordered the puppets and allied forces to withdraw, leaving him and Didimos facing one another in the Void Realm.

Ch. 872The Marshal

Black Cat Didimos struggled to resist the Light God Lord, so Merlin urged Didimos to devour the Cities of Arcane for strength. As Didimos and Augustus sacrificed their cities, the Atlan marshal ordered the Void-Class Warship to drain ten more planes and prepare its main cannon to fire again.

  • The Light God Lord's rule-infused holy light overwhelmed Black Cat Didimos, who told Merlin that the pain was too much to endure.
  • Merlin asked whether Didimos could devour a plane and urged Didimos to swallow the two Cities of Arcane to gain enough strength to hold out.
  • Didimos devoured Secci City of Arcane and used its energy to resist the holy light, while the Light God Lord vowed to capture the black cat.
  • Augustus sent his own City of Arcane toward Didimos and told Sethis to flee if Didimos could not hold the enemy back.
  • The Atlan marshal ordered his forces to ask the Rock Clan for ten planes to recharge the Void-Class Warship's main cannon, and the Rock Clan agreed.

Ch. 873The Void-Class Warship and the Sloth Beast!

The Atlan Civilization’s Void-Class Warship fired at Sethis, but Merlin arrived on the sloth beast and took the blast instead. The enemy forces retreated, and Merlin noticed that Rom was missing.

  • The marshal ordered the Void-Class Warship to fire at Sethis, who sensed the danger but could not escape the beam.
  • Merlin arrived on the sloth beast and sent it into the beam’s path, where it suffered a wound that quickly healed.
  • The marshal learned that the monster was Merlin’s sloth beast and concluded that the warship could not reliably kill it.
  • The marshal ordered a retreat, and the Rock Clan, the Light Pantheon, and the Atlan Civilization withdrew from the battlefield.
  • Merlin did not pursue the retreating forces and looked for Rom, but saw only Flameglow and the other two companions.
