Background

Yan Feng was Zhongli Wu's direct disciple and possessed the rare, spatially aligned Bone Dragon Martial Soul. When Yan Jingchuan noticed him at the Holy Spirit Cult headquarters, Yan Feng had two yellow soul rings and was described as calm in temperament. Yan Jingchuan immediately identified him as a potential means of infiltrating Shrek Academy. 39 40

Yan Jingchuan's plan required covert control rather than open coercion. Yan Feng was held at the Nine-Treasure Glazed Sect, where Yan Jingchuan used the Hell Demon Puppet's Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Ring skill, Spiritual Parasitism, to destroy Yan Feng's resistance and occupy his body. Neither Long Xiaoyao nor Ye Xishui could detect the possession afterward. 47 48

From that point onward, Yan Feng functioned as Yan Jingchuan's avatar. His cultivation was accelerated, his status as a Bone Dragon Soul Elder was used to attract Shrek's attention, and he entered the academy alongside Ning Tian and Wu Feng under the Nine-Treasure Glazed Sect's name. 48 50
